Hi, Sorry if this question is a repeat but I saw the mail archives and not able to find what I am looking for. We are using freeradius to connect to LDAP server. I can able to authenticate with the radius sever fine. Now I want to retrieve ldap attribute called productId. Depends on the productId, I have to give access the users. If the productId=1234, then all the users will get access. If not..no access. After reading the mail archives and documentation, I saw I need to do changes in /etc/raddb/dictionary,/etc/raddb/users, /etc/raddb/ldap.attrmap Can you please explain me what is the right config I need to modify. You help is really appreciated. Thanks and regards. redundant LDAP server with free-radius

Hi All, 1. When i configure the free-radius to use redundant ldap, the radius server contacts the secondary ldap server first. My config file options are: authorize { ... .... redundant{ ldap_primary ldap_secondary } .. } authenticate { .. .. Auth-Type LDAP { redundant { ldap_primary ldap_secondary } } } #unix eap } ldap ldap_primary { ;; .. } ldap ldap_secondary { .... ... } 2. My users file has : DEFAULT LDAP-Group := "groupname1" some vendor specific attributes follows.. DEFAULT LDAP-Group := "groupname2" ..... Do i need to specify it as ldap_primary-LDAP-Group := "groupname1" ldap_secondary-LDAP-Group := "groupname1" ?? or the previous define itself will work ?? Its very urgent. Backing up Mysql

Hi all i started backing up the db using a crontab job early in the morning which backs up everything, but i have had complains from users who try to logon after the backup process. What is the best way to backup an active database with radiusd waiting for connection? Thank you Sarky

Hello. Uses... Good Morning... So long back I mailing to Users List. I ownning two openser System are Linux... one is Fedora core 5. other is RedHat AS 4. I don't have any problem in Fedora core 5 while installing the FreeRadius1.1.3 , it working fine and clear When I using RHEL AS 4 with mysql database + FreeRadius. FreeRadius and MySQL boot problem

HI, I have currently setup FreeRadius 1.0.4 with ldap authentication and authorization as well as mysql authorization and its all working fine. My only problem is that when I boot the server (Fedora Core 4) and radiusd starts up there is a rlm_sql_mysql error: Wed Feb 15 18:38:51 2006 : Info: rlm_sql (sql): Trying to (re)connect unconnected handle 4.. Wed Feb 15 18:38:51 2006 : Info: rlm_sql_mysql: Starting connect to MySQL server for #4 Wed Feb 15 18:38:51 2006 : Error: rlm_sql_mysql: Couldn't connect socket to MySQL server radius_client@myip:radius Wed Feb 15 18:38:51 2006 : Error: rlm_sql_mysql: Mysql error 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'myip' (13)' Wed Feb 15 18:38:51 2006 : Error: rlm_sql (sql): Failed to connect DB handle #4 The MySQL server is on another server with ip "myip" I initially thought it was a firewall block but even with no firewall I get this error. But once the server has started and I run "service radiusd restart" from a terminal the connect to the MySQL server works fine and has no problems. I even tried running the service from rc.local but it still fails did anyone have this problem??? is anyone running the MySQL server on another machine???? Is there a fix for this??? thanks diniz

How to configure USERS file to assign the VLAN ID according to LDAP group name?

Hi Everyone, I configure a Freeradius server working with LDAP. The group name in LDAP is used as the VLAN ID issued by radius too. This is my *users* file configuration: *DEFAULT Group == "1"* * Auth-Type = LDAP,* * Tunnel-Type = 13,* * Tunnel-Medium-Type = 6,* * Tunnel-Private-Group-ID = 1,* * Fall-Through = 1* ** *DEFAULT Group == "10"* * Auth-Type = LDAP,* * Tunnel-Type = 13,* * Tunnel-Medium-Type = 6,* * Tunnel-Private-Group-ID = 10,* * Fall-Through = 1* ** Now, it works fine except I have to add more lines manual once I add one more group in LDAP. Because freeradius is going to assign the VLAN ID by matching the Group name replied by LDAP with the configured Group name in* users* file. Can I configure the *Group* as a variable containing the value of the group name in LDAP, and radius can assign the Tunnel-Private-Group-ID by recognizing the variable? freeradius against AD authentication not working

Running Freeradius v1.1.1 on a RHEL 4 box and trying to authenticate the WiFi users against windows 2003 active directory using EAP-MSCHAPv2. I was able to join the linux box to windows domain successfully and able to read the users and groups from AD. I have configured the windows XP supplicant with root.der certificate and EAP-MSCHAPv2. When i try to connect to access point, it takes the local machine name default instead of asking for username and password. Does i missed anything ? Hello: I am trying to install freeRADIUS-1.1.3. The INSTALL instructions says to download the 'tar' file. I have not been able to find the tar file for the newest version. Please help. Where is this 'tar' file? Thanks. Kirt
