Authenticate to AD but only allow certain group

All, I've got authentication working nicely with MSCHAP, but now I'd like to only allow users that are members of a certain AD group. I would prefer to have this happen only when requests come from a specific client (wireless access point). In this case the idea is to have users only be able to get wireless access when they're in a specific AD group. How can I do this in freeradius? Thanks, Brian

Detailed Logging freeradius Request Packets

Hi, I've tried to find a way of detail logging the packets sent by freeradius to the client in the authentication phase but didn't found a way of doing it. Maybe I've not looked correctly so I'm asking if it's actually possible? I was able to log detailed packets sent by the client (Response packets) but not the ones sent by freeradius to the client (except accounting and proxied ones). Thanks for your time. 3.0.4: binary LDAP attributes

Hi everyone, Our (Red Hat) QA was testing the effect of this entry in 3.0.4 ChangeLog: * Modify pairparsevalue to deal with embedded NULLs better, and use the binary versions of attribute values in rlm_ldap. They have noticed that binary LDAP values get truncated on embedded zero characters (\0) in RADIUS replies, in radiusReplyMessage in particular. I.e. for radiusReplyMessage:: cmVwbHkgd2l0aCBhAGI= The response output by radtest was Reply-Message = 'reply with a' The network capture also showed that RADIUS reply packets contained truncated values. Is this intended, or was there a fix for this? In related discoveries, it seems that backslashes get removed from LDAP attribute values in RADIUS replies, so radiusReplyMessage: reply with a\0b becomes Reply-Message = 'reply with a0b' in radtest output. user-group for rejected users

Hello! Let´s suppose the following situations: 1) User exists but the password is wrong 2) User does not exist In both cases the answer is REJECT. It happens that certain hardware is making endless attempts that eventually saturating the server. - It is possible to cause the server, instead of rejecting the users, accept the login but responds ACCEPT with "framed-pool = pool-block" ? or/and - Is there any way to put REJECT users in a given group by default? No Logon Servers error with FreeRADIUS + NTLM

Hi, I know this is not a problem with FreeRADIUS, however, there are several people on this list who run FreeRADIUS with Active Directory as a back end and I need their advice on this. I've run into the dreaded "No logon servers (0xc000005e)" error with NTLM. In the past I've found that the computer password for the server expired on AD and that it was either fixed by rejoining, or by tweaking the password's expiry. Do any AD folk on the list know what we can do to get this stable and that this does not occur again? Hi, I'm well aware about not setting Auth-Type and let freeradius choose properly auth method, but I need LDAP authentication, and IT staff of LDAP server is very hostile to give freeradius userPassword info. So, my only choice is binding user to LDAP, and pray for the best... AFAIK, if I can't get proper userPassword (stored in SHA1 in LDAP), I'll never reach PAP module, and my only way out is using LDAP binding in authorize and authenticate sections of inner-tunnel. stale session

Hello Guys, I am simulating the problem on what if the AP goes down (due to various reasons). I observed that user is not properly disconnected and result is stale session. When the AP is up and when the previous user tries to log in he/she gets login failed message because "Simultaneous-Use" is in effect while previous session is still ticking. Problem with Simultaneous-Use

Hi, We are trying to configure our WLC Cisco + FreeRadius + LDAP to WiFi web authentication. At the moment, we have configured almost everything, but still we can't enable the Simultaneous-Use feature. LDAP works fine, we don't have authentication problems. We are using FreeRadius 2.1.12 (Centos 5.11). - The command *radcheck* doesn't show anything, and also doesn't work properly in debbug mode. - The *radutmp* file only save the last logged. We have tried a lot of things but nothing works, Can you help us, please? We stay attentive to any question you have, or if you need some log file (in this case, we did not find any relevant file that attach). Thanks in advance. Hello, Run into an issue today, which digging in the logs seems to have going on for a while, but somehow became extreme today... Not sure yet what the root cause is.. might not be FreeRADIUS. I have four instances of 3.0.8, running in containers, two per VM. a load balancer routes traffic to the nodes, with username based persistence. We have several Cisco wireless controllers that use this RAIDUS setup.... very frequently, they have been logging that the RADIUS server failed to respond, and log the user name and the station id. I tracked lots of such instances, and found the packets do arrive at the VMs, but no reply is sent out. Sometime later system would respond fine to some other incoming packets! I find nothing in the logs related the failed requests, not from FreeRADIUS and not from iptables... The load on the VMs is constantly close to 0. No RAM issues or any other issues I could see... I doubled the number of FreeRADIUS instances anyway... but the issue persisted. the Cisco's log the errors many times per minute.... I restarted the FreeRADIUS instances few times... to no avail. But then decided to reboot both VMs... and issue seems to have disappeared! At least for now. the uptime on the VMs was 92 days. they are redhat 6.6. any suggestions on how to further debug such behavior, if it were to start again? Thanks a lot, Mohamed.
