LDAP retrieve additional attributes and map to radius attributes

Hi, Sorry if this question is a repeat but I saw the mail archives and not able to find what I am looking for. We are using freeradius to connect to LDAP server. I can able to authenticate with the radius sever fine. Now I want to retrieve ldap attribute called productId. Depends on the productId, I have to give access the users. If the productId=1234, then all the users will get access. If not..no access. After reading the mail archives and documentation, I saw I need to do changes in /etc/raddb/dictionary,/etc/raddb/users, /etc/raddb/ldap.attrmap Can you please explain me what is the right config I need to modify. You help is really appreciated. Thanks and regards. redundant LDAP server with free-radius

Hi All, 1. When i configure the free-radius to use redundant ldap, the radius server contacts the secondary ldap server first. My config file options are: authorize { ... .... redundant{ ldap_primary ldap_secondary } .. } authenticate { .. .. Auth-Type LDAP { redundant { ldap_primary ldap_secondary } } } #unix eap } ldap ldap_primary { ;; .. } ldap ldap_secondary { .... ... } 2. My users file has : DEFAULT LDAP-Group := "groupname1" some vendor specific attributes follows.. DEFAULT LDAP-Group := "groupname2" ..... Do i need to specify it as ldap_primary-LDAP-Group := "groupname1" ldap_secondary-LDAP-Group := "groupname1" ?? or the previous define itself will work ?? Its very urgent. Thanks, this was helpful. I would rather not use LVS. I would prefer to use the built-in functionality of the NAS to fall back from a primary to secondary or tertiary auth/accounting servers. This whole setup would be far simpler and more robust if I could just do master-master replication with the MySQL servers. Oh well. I was not aware of radsqlrelay. I think this gets me closer to what I need than anything else. I can't guarantee which server the NAS will choose to log to at any given time. Therefore, I may need to use radsqlrelay on each server to keep the others in sync. How to send tome clients to the same detail file

Hello, I have a running server with this configuration: detail { detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/detail-%Y%m%d detailperm = 0600 } detail auth_log { detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/auth-detail-%Y%m%d detailperm = 0600 } I have activated the detail file in the accounting section and the auth_log in the authorize and are working fine. But now I want to send all the logs for requests from a group of clients (defined as a huntgroup) to the same files, and the request for all other clients as now (classified with the IP address of the client). Is there any way to redefine this files for a set of clients? -- Angel L. Stale session problem

My upstream (comindico/Soul) do not allow me to query the nas's via any method SNMP or finger. What happens is I get a dropped packet occasionally which may be a disconnect but of course I never receive it full, hence the user is still shown as online on the SQL backend. Has anyone written a script or event process to monitor the update packets against the users apparently online and in the event that no update is received in a 20 min period (my updates are every 15 mins from the NAS) create a close session event? Or if you have an alternative solution please let me know. Thanks Cory

how to log Disconnects/Stop (Acct-Status-Type)

Hello Everyone, We recently moved from Merit Radius to Freeradius (1.0.4). Everything works great however we want to log Stop/Alive packets (the Acct-Status-Type request) to the radius.log as we did before. Right now this information is only logged to the detail file. With Merit Radius we were able to see when a client disconnected in the regular log file and with Freeradius we only see the Auth Login OK messages but no disconnects. Is there an easy way to log the Acct-Status-Type to the radius.log file also? Much appreciated, Adrian
