Locking realm access to a specific huntgroup

Hello, I have different NAS and each type of NAS is grouped together in a huntgroup. I need to make an addition to my radius setup to proxy requests with a certain realm to a specified server. Proxying is already working but I want to lock the users using that specific realm to a specific huntgroup so that its only possible for them to login on predefined NASgroup. I don't have access to the remote proxy server. Using attr_filter isn't an option since this only filters replys. Anyone knows how to do this? Thx in advance and kind regards, Jonathan

The Accept Reject 123 Waltz

Hi, Please help with this bizarre problem! EVERY third radtest packet I sent gets rejected! 123! 123! 123! Every now and then there's a bit of randomness, e.g. two rejects in a row, but I can sit in front of the computer all day with the up arrow and dance to the rythm! I've included both the Accept and Reject outputs from radius running in Debug mode below. The pertinent messages I see are the following: . . rlm_sql: Failed to create the pair: Unknown value for attribute ChilliSpot-Max-Output-Octets rlm_sql (sql): Error getting data from database . . . auth: No password configured for the user auth: Failed to validate the user. . . rad_recv: Access-Request packet from host 127.0.0.1:32776, id=253, length=68 Sending Access-Reject of id 253 to 127.0.0.1 port 32776 ---- I'm using sql for both sessions and accounting in radiusd.conf (radutmp is commented out everywhere) I've tried this in freeRADIUS 1.0.2, 1.0.4 and 1.1.2 Why's it only every third time? Please help! radutmp problem

Hi, I'm not able to make accounting, the freeradius don't create radutmp file. The write permission is ok. And no help from the log. Tanks for help. Peculiar Input/Output Octet Data In Alive/Stop Packets

Hi, The majority of alive and stop packets received by our FreeRadius server contain correct input and output octet data, but there are a number of users that receive a UNIX time formatted integer translating to midnight of the day the packet was received instead of the correct data. In each case the expected data is reported and we have yet to reproduce the error manually. As the data transfer has only recently become an area we wish to monitor and log, it is impossible to tell whether this has always been occurring. Has anyone experienced this before? radreply table / OP field length

Hello, The included db_mysql.sql which creates the MySQL schema required for FreeRADIUS created the radreply table with a two-character OP field (I assume for use with <=, >=, etc). It defaults to a single "=" and when I add a record, subsequent queries from a Microsoft SQL 2000 linked Database connection fail because it wants both characters filled (== maybe). We use Platypus as our billing system, which resides in the Microsoft SQL 2000 environment and talks to FreeRADIUS via the link mentioned above. Should I change the default to "==" or is there something else? Here is the error: Server: Msg 7347, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL' returned an unexpected data length for the fixed-length column '[FreeRADIUS]...[radreply].op'. The expected data length is 2, while the returned data length is 1. Stripped username

Hello, New user making good progress. Can see light at end of tunnel. I need to be able to only store the username without realm in the MySQL radcheck table. In the sql.conf file, I have tried commenting out the following: #sql_user_name = "%{User-Name}" ...and un-commenting the following: sql_user_name = "%{Stripped-User-Name:-%{User-Name:-DEFAULT}}" ...and it does not work. But, if I put the username with realm in the radcheck table, then it works. I also uncommented the following in the sql.conf file: default_user_profile = "DEFAULT" Cliff

Run radrelay as a different user

Sorry if this is too basic of a question but I've been fighting with this for a while and google hasn't turned up anything for me. I am running freeradius on Centos and it runs the freeradius daemon as the radiusd user&group. However when I start radrelay it starts as root which then changes the detail file to be owned by root thus causing radiusd not to be able to write any further accounting packets to the file. I've tried starting radrelay as the user radiusd as follows but its not working. # su -c 'radrelay -xx -s SecretPass -r 192.168.1.4:1645 /var/log/radius/radacct/detail' radiusd I do not get any debug information back it just goes back to the prompt and radrelay doesn't start. Is there another way of making radrelay run as the user radiusd? I guess I could change radiusd to run as root or make the detail file permissions world writeable but I would like to avoid doing either of those if at all possible. -Eric

To be honest i dont really understand the logic behind the Interrim-Interval and the query you've provided. All of the requests get answered positively and an IP returned. The problem is that in many instances these IP addresses are the "same" i.e. the 'allocate-find' doesn't seem to lock the returned row properly. I have read that MySQL with Cluster Storage Engine uses 'READ COMMITED' isolation level so I think it should be ok for my purposes (SQLs above). However the locks don't seem to work. Has anyone noticed this behavior with similar SQL setup on MySQL or similar Relational Database with similar isolation level and locking mechanisms? I agree there it's were the "vector" is set (by invoking the MD5 library) however, I don't see where that "vector" is made random for every request. Again I might be mistaken but the end result is what I described above, that the same request ID gets the exact same Authenticator value. The reasons why in many instances I don't get a "Re-send" of an old reply is simply because it might no longer be stored in the cache hence a brand new one generated. The latter behavior is dependent on the number of messages allowed in the cache and the time before they stale. I had this time set to 5 seconds and given the performance of a litle over 50 req/sec it was causing it to be right in the limit: (256req / 50req/sec ~= 5 sec). Thanks for the help. Regards, Alex.
