Hi Alan, Thanks for helping me in configuring my freeradius with mysql. I've uncommented the "sql" in the file /usr/local/etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default . And now I've seen message trying to commucinate with mysql. But still there is a problem of not getting the mysql driver. I am using MySql 4.1.2. Please suggest to work out. Here is the piece of output emphasizing the errors. rlm_sql (sql): Could not link driver rlm_sql_mysql: rlm_sql_mysql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory rlm_sql (sql): Make sure it (and all its dependent libraries!) are in the search path of your system's ld. /usr/local/etc/raddb/sql.conf[22]: Instantiation failed for module "sql" /usr/local/etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default[123]: Failed to find module "sql". /usr/local/etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default[33]: Errors parsing authorize section. MLPPP - Maybe off topic

Hi Apologises if this isn’t really a Freeradius question, although maybe someone on the list has encountered the issue we have and may have a solution. We are trying to bond 2 DSL lines for a customer who has 2 phone lines and 2 DSL circuits in his office. For some reason it is not working as we would expect. My understanding is that both DSL circuits have to connect using the same username/password and we have to add: Cisco-Avpair = "preauth:ppp-multilink=1" To the users Radius profile. Although both DSL routers connect it gives some very strange routing issues. And things that web pages can’t be viewed. We are terminating DSL on a Cisco 7304 over L2TP. We know the Cisco does MLPPP and we can see it does bond some connections for some reason, no idea why, but we see them. Am I doing some wrong? Thanks in advance. checkval - Calling-Station-Id

Hi I use freeradius 1.1.7 (PLD Linux distribution). In default configuration freeradius work OK but I have problem checking Calling-Station-Id - for check mac adres client validation. My user file contains: "Waldi" User-Password == "12345", It's working. It also works when I add ip verification: "Waldi" User-Password == "12345", Client-IP-Address == "192.168.1.10" But after adding mac verification always got Access-Reject "Waldi" User-Password == "12345", Client-IP-Address == "192.168.1.10", Calling-Station-Id == "xxxxxxxxxxxx" xxxxxxxxxxxx - client mac adress. For test I use NTRadPing Test Utility 1.5. In radiusd.conf: checkval { item-name = Calling-Station-Id check-name = Calling-Station-Id data-type = string notfound-reject = yes } What is wrong or what did I forgot about?

multiple NAS's and Mysql

Hello List I'm in the process of setting up a freeradius server to replace the old icradius box we have. I can get the server running just fine with Mysql and it's all work really well but I'm stumped on how to do the following. I have checked the lists and google for pointers but frankly I'm lost What I need to be able to do is send back different info based on the incoming request from a set of NAS's. We have L2TP interconnects from multiple providers, most of them are very simple but one is different in that they only require a certain response. They need the following info Standard Framed-Protocol PPP Standard User-Service Framed-User Standard Tunnel-Server-Endpoirt "82.*.*.*" Cisco Cisco-AVPair "vpdn:tunnel-id=provider.net" Standard Tunnel-Type L2TP Standard Tunnel-Medium-Type IP How do I send back just this info for this provider? my SQL foo is rubbish. all other providers send the request direct to my NAS which then grabs the relevant info from my radius ok. I could not get this to work in icradius so we had 2 radius server setup, one for this provider and one for all others Current versions are (running on Debian sarge at the mo) freeradius = 1.0.2-4sarge3 freeradius-mysql = 1.0.2-4sarge3 mysql-server = 4.0.24-10sarge Thanks for your time. I made a progress on this issue. I added pap under Autz-Type Ldap1, as below, and then Auth-Type was set to pap. authorize { preprocess chap mschap suffix eap Autz-Type Ldap1 { redundant-load-balance{ myldap myldap2 } pap # <-- the change } Autz-Type Web{ files } files pap } The purpose of doing this is to make sure pap is the last module being called during the authorization process. Hi Alan, I am using free radius Server 2.0.0 with mysql 4.1.2. I want to put the user name and the password in mysql database. I've uncommented all the related statements in radiusd.conf and sql.conf, but it doesn't work.Please tell the database schema structure that I should created in mysql and how can I know that my radius server is connected with database for the testing purpose. Different IP Pool per proxied realm

Hi all I’m trying to assign a different IP Pool per realm, instead of the IP being assigned by the NAS. However after reading some postings and doing some searching I can’t get this to work. The realms we want to assign different IP Pools to, we proxy to different customers. So we don’t do the authentication for these realms, we just proxy to authentication. We are using FreeRADIUS Version 1.0.1 and using MySQL and not flat files. Our NAS is a Cisco 7304 terminating L2TP for DSL users. So far I’ve tried to add the following to the users file: DEFAULT Realm == "realm1.com", Pool-Name := "pool_one" And created the pool in radiusd.conf: ippool pool_one { range-start = 192.168.1.1 range-stop = 192.168.1.254 netmask = 255.255.255.0 cache-size = 800 session-db = ${raddbdir}/db.ippool ip-index = ${raddbdir}/db.ipindex override = no maximum-timeout = 0 } But when the user logs in they get assigned an IP from the NAS and not from the IP Pool. error after updating to freeradius 2.0.1

Hi After i found out today that Freeradius 2.0.1 was out i updated my old 1.1.7 release and installed this version. Problem is, that it won't start. I keep getting: ERROR: Failed to open socket: /etc/freeradius/radiusd.conf[182]: Error binding to port for 0.0.0.0 port 1812 All 1.1.x versions have run smoothly on my Ubuntu server, this is the first time I get this problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance! Joep Ruiter
