Hello, Very often, I can say at least 50% of the time I get: Auth: Login incorrect: [1d15057j6p4/\270\310\344\024\n\265E!-\233M\2766\276:] (from client private-network-2 port 1 cli) The username: 1d15057j6p4 is correct, but as you can see the password is not transmitted correctly, although im very sure I typed it right. update session database in Authorization

Hello, When 2 users with same username try to login to the server at the same time; Radius server receives Auth and Acct packets in the following order: 1- Auth from user1 2- Auth from user2 3- Acct from user1 4- Acct from user2 Since the session database is not populated until a user sends an accounting packet (using radutmp or sql modules) How can we prevent multiple login in this situation? shall we think in adding a record to the session database in authorization section? radius for linux authentication

Hi List, I have configured my linux devices to use freeRadius (freeRadius 1.1.5 with MySQL backend) authentication. Installation of pam library went well and am able to get authenticated against my freeRadius server. Now the problem is how to identify a user like root have same name on multiple machines. For this I observed that this PAM library is sending Calling-Station-Id in Access-Request packets. Hi, Sorry for the rookie question but I'd like to know what I can make of the following: I have just one wireless device, an access point and a freeradius server. When the supplicant tries to connect I can see the following messages in FR over and over: rad_recv: Access-Request packet from... ... Sending Access-Challenge of id 46 to 10.215.146.130 port 2048 EAP-Message = 0x010200061920 Message-Authenticator = 0x00000000000000000000000000000000 State = 0x2bd535b12bd72c983ec1de5e3f93e675 Finished request 18. Going to the next request Waking up in 4.9 seconds. Cleaning up request 18 ID 46 with timestamp +771 Ready to process requests. There are quite a few Access-Request/Access-Challenge pairs (it goes on for about a minute or two) until the supplicant finally succeeds to connect with TLS handshakes and so on (WPA2+AES+EAP-TLS). What can be causing this delay? It's as if the "conversation were out of sync" or as if one side weren't "listening". Could it be AP, the client supplicant, the wlan driver? If I were to use a packet sniffer like wireshark, what "filter" could I apply and what should I look for? Ideas are welcome. Thanks Vieri

Multiple checks items for the same attribute

Hi Forgive me if this topic has been covered before, for all my searching i could not find a solution. I want to be able to check multiple values for the same check attribute (nas ipaddress || nas port). I have tried the ":=, +=" way, but i'm guessing, since it didn't work that this only works for reply attributes. If anyone can point me in a general direction it would most appreciated. Regards

Problems with freeradius accounting proxy

Hi All, I've got Freeradius (2.1.7, Ubuntu Hardy) setup to answer some requests itself, and others get proxied away. All accounting requests get proxied away. My Cisco LNS is sending periodic accounting requests , every ten minutes. We have enough concurrent sessions online that there's a steady rain of accounting packets, about one-3 per second on average. After some reasonably short period of time (currently approx 30-40 minutes) Freeradius stops responding to accounting requests. Auth requests (when they happen) are still fine, however because our auth volume is low, our Cisco ends up seeing the lack of response to accounting messages as 'dead radius', and no further auth attempts are being sent. TCPDUMP shows the accounting requests are still being received on the freeradius box, but the outbound/proxied messages have just stopped. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong/where to look? Hello List! I got a machine up and running Freeradius 2.1.0 with SSL support to secure a Wireless LAN. In our school’s network we (have to) use an Apple Mac OS X 10.4 Server with Samba as the PDC. Samba stores the user information using the OpenDirectory on the same server – using the NTLM password hashes… so far, there should be no problem for Freeradius using LDAP to connect to the OD an retrieve the NTLM hash to authenticate the wireless clients. But: The Apple version of Samba/OD doesn’t store the password hashes in a single attribute like “ntPassword” but has an attribute authAuthority wherein I can find the password hash along with other data. I’ve searched the web for over two weeks now, but haven’t found an answer, that satisfies me. I know, I also could use ntlm_auth for authentication, but as far as I can see, I couldn’t select a user group to be granted access. Either all users that Samba knows or none. Via LDAP/OP I could select a single group (e.g. named “WirelessAccess”) that will be successfully granted access to the Wireless. Or am I mistaken at that point? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Counters reset period

Hey, I've defined a quarterly reset period counter (reset=3m), and when logging-in the %b and %e (beginning of counter and ending of counter periods) I am getting values for beginning which are equal to the 1st of December and ending which is equal to the beginning of March. Meaning, the quarter begins with 1st of December while I would expect it to begin at the 1st of January (being a calendar quarter). Could someone please explain this behavior? Thanks, Liran.
