Authenticating AP.

Hello Everyone, I was trying to configure freeradius to authenticate users coming from multiple APs and authenticate them on the basis of the AP the request is coming from(e.g. if user A's request is sent by AP X then accept; if user A's request comes from AP Y then reject; if user B's request comes from AP Y then accept). One scheme for this to be achieved could be that client.conf has entry for each AP individually and APs IP address and shared secret is used to identify the AP; however the scenario I am considering has APs behind the NATed gateways rendering this method useless. But if I configure clients.conf over MAC-address instead of IP-address and use Called-Station-ID with shared secret to identify AP then I think it should work out. I am not sure how feasible will this be. I went through the old posts in the forum but could not find anything specific, to point in this direction. I would be extremely thankful if anyone could direct me in right direction. Thanks in advance. Regards, Kumar Mrinal -- -

Hello Everyone, in my client config I use netmaskranges. f.e: ... ipaddr = 172.16.0.0 netmask = 12 shortname = swr01 ... Now I only see the following information: Sun May 29 01:52:44 2011 : Auth: Invalid user: [...] (from client swr01 port 417 cli 00-..-..-..-..-..) First Time Go at Setting Up FreeRadius with Active Directory - Authentication Issues - Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

DC: 192.168.1.4 or Server11 Wireless Access Point: 192.168.1.251 SSID: jump I have hit a brickwall and am having a really hard time getting through this last stretch. This is my first time trying to setup freeradius and still trying to wrap my head around a couple of things. I am trying to setup freeradius on Centos 5.6 and am running into some issues. I am looking to setup freeradius to authenticate users for wireless access using there active directory account. Freeradius Secret

Can somebody tell me the expected issues when the secret for a Client is misconfigured? We had an issue with some NAS' not able to connect to the Freeradius, and it appears as if the only we changed was the corresponding secrets. Are NAS' with mis-matched secrets dropped silently or logged? Nathan Van Fleet

Hello! I'm using the Linux-PAM (1.1.3) with the RADIUS module (1.3.17) in an embeddded system, running linux. I'm trying to set the RADIUS accounting on it, enabling the accounting commands. But I can't find where I can do this, even in the src code of the Radius module, the function that supposed to do this is kinda empty... Could someone help me? I'm using the freeRADIUS in my pc as a server to authenticate the embedded.... Thank you all in advance -- Igor Kramer Pinotti

We do have a question Is there anything in configuration that allows to turn off authentication We are running EAP-TTLS and would like instead of sending challenge on Access send Access accept always. (No authentication in fact)
