Detailed Logging freeradius Request Packets

Hi, I've tried to find a way of detail logging the packets sent by freeradius to the client in the authentication phase but didn't found a way of doing it. Maybe I've not looked correctly so I'm asking if it's actually possible? I was able to log detailed packets sent by the client (Response packets) but not the ones sent by freeradius to the client (except accounting and proxied ones). Thanks for your time. user-group for rejected users

Hello! Let´s suppose the following situations: 1) User exists but the password is wrong 2) User does not exist In both cases the answer is REJECT. It happens that certain hardware is making endless attempts that eventually saturating the server. - It is possible to cause the server, instead of rejecting the users, accept the login but responds ACCEPT with "framed-pool = pool-block" ? or/and - Is there any way to put REJECT users in a given group by default? AVP EAP-KEY name support in FR

Hi, We are trying to bring up MACsec with Cisco and FR, and we are stuck because of Radius unable to send EAP-Key-Name AVP. Below is what is expected as per RFC4072 RFC4072 says "A home Diameter server receiving a Diameter-EAP-Request with a Key-Name AVP with non-empty data MUST silently discard the AVP. In addition, the home Diameter server SHOULD include this AVP in Diameter-EAP-Response only if an empty EAP-Key-Name AVP was present in Diameter-EAP-Request." But radius server is not sending EAP-Key-Name AVP (Radius Attribute Type 102) even invalid AVP present in the Diameter-EAP-Request". authorization based on ldap attribute

Hallo, I've configured freeradius to authenticate users with PEAP, using openldap to store NTLM hashes. It works fine. Now I'd like to authorize only people who have the ldap attribute "haDirittoEduroam" set to Y (or the other way round: not to authorize users with "haDirittoEduroam" set to N). Below an example openldap entry. Radperf unavailable?

Hi, I see that there is a problem downloading Radperf from networkradius.com. Does anybody know if it will become available once again at some point? Are there any other benchmarking utilities for Freeradius? Regards Kosie

FreeRadius DHCP against LDAP

smbencrypt calculates false hash for German umlauts and other non-ASCII letters

Hello, if a do a "smbencrypt ä" then the output for the NT hash is "B5CF5E386433C7CB69E43ED774717792" but the correct hash would be "3104EAB484D59EFABCEA2C44B07F41D3". (If you do not see the letter: It is a small "a" with two dots, unicode code point 00E4.) Similar results hold for other umlauts, too. My Freeradius version is 2.2.0 running on Linux 3.8.13 with system locale set to en_US.utf8. I wrote an own utitly to calculate NT hashes to fill the Radius database. While I compared the results of my own utility with those from "smbencrypt", I found these discrepancies. In order to check which result was the correct one, I took a Windows computer, added a dummy user to it and set the passwords in concern. Then I extracted the NT hashes from the SAM database. One note of caution: If you take a web site like http://www.onlinehashcrack.com/hash-calculator.php, do not trust it. If it comes to non-ASCII letters the output is false, too. So, uncommenting the dialup.conf include appears to have gotten me much further, but radius is still having trouble connecting to the database. A couple things I noted from the above output (which differs from my first posted debug): default_user_profile = "" nas_query = "SELECT id, nasname, shortname, type, secret, server FROM nas" 1. Should I be specifying a default user profile? 2. I don't have a table in my radiusDB called 'nas'. More on PostgreSQL. My /var/lib/psql/data/pg_hba.conf is WIDE OPEN, though it may be missing something more specific (the database is also on localhost): local all all trust host all all 127.0.0.1/32 trust host all all ::1/128 trust It's worth note that I intend to tighten security for the DB once I actually get things working. > It depends on what you need. Yes, it's quite possible I broke something, and thanks so much for your assistance thus far. I have already succeeded in getting FreeRADIUS file-based auth (users) to authenticate Squid users. My goals are: - SSO for Squid and hopefully pptp, using FreeRADIUS auth to authenticate users for these services. - Leveraging PostgreSQL to store user credentials and accounting information for traffic usage. eap-tls ignore client cert expiry check - crazy idea?

Hi All, Is there a way if I had 10 clients in my home lab and all the certs expire tomorrow, that rather than re-provide all the certs to my clients, I can frigg the radius server time, to still accpet them. Im guessing this is a no, but from what I see, the client cert is presented, and check against the server time. Would this be correct?
