Hello,
I'm using unlang to discriminate the database to use as described in the
code below.
Is there a method to use variables so avoid the redundant check of NAS-Id?
Thanks
server rad {
listen {
ipaddr = *
port = 1812
type = auth
}
listen {
ipaddr = *
port = 1813
type = acct
}
authorize {
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test/i) {
db1
}
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test2/i) {
db2
}
}
accounting {
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test/i) {
db1
}
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test2/i) {
db2
}
}
session {
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test/i) {
db1
}
if (&NAS-Identifier =~ /test2/i) {
db2
}
}

monitor an eap session in a production environment with a lot of devices

Hi all,
I wanted to ask how to monitor an eap session in a production environment
with a lot of devices. Have you developed a method or a best practice that
helps in those cases?
Analyzing freeradius debug, in addition to the state attribute, there is
some internal variable to see if a package is part of an ongoing session,
it's a retransmitted or duplicated packet, or is it the beginning of a new
session?
The standard log what does it say about it?
many thanks!
Marco

Failing proxied request for user, due to lack of any response from home server EDUROAM
by Marco Santantonio 29 Sep '17
by Marco Santantonio 29 Sep '17
29 Sep '17
Hello,
I'm writing for a 802.1x authentication problem with eduroam.
In our infrastructure we have two proxy-radius (freeradius 3.0.12 on debian
stretch) which then turn the access-requests for our realm to internal
freeradius servers.
>From a log analysis I see:
Wed Sep 27 16:07:15 2017: Proxy: (10) Marking home server 192.84.145.15
port 1812 alive
where 192.84.145.15 = eduroam NRPS server
Then I see a series of
Wed Sep 27 16:10:20 2017: ERROR: (14613) ERROR: Failing proxied request for
user "user@realm" due to lack of response from home server 192.84.145.15
port 1812
And I see some authentication that goes fine and others do not.
Since we have experienced some difficulties connecting our users from
outside, how can I debug this type of problem?
Can it be a configuration error or a timeout problem?
Many thanks!

Hi dear list.
I have this message on my freeradius log:
Error: rlm_sql (sql): There are no DB handles to use! skipped 0
so I increased the num_sql_socks to 50 in the sql.conf file.
It fixed the issue!!!
But after that has appeared this new message:
Error: Discarding duplicate request from client todos port ZZZZ - ID: 5 due
to unfinished request XXXX
a lot of times.
What does it mean?
Do I have to improve the sql configuration?
Regards

ERROR: No authenticate method (Auth-Type) found for the request: Rejecting the user

People, I have working OK a Freeradius with AD Authentication and LDAP
Authorization. Everything is OK when I use my service to authenticate users
for the WiFi service.
But now I want to add a Cisco Firepower IPS authentication, and I fail. The
Cisco Firepower IPS has a Radius configuration interface where I fill out
all the basic necessary data: Radius IP and port, Secret and Default User
Role.
In the Freeradius server, I have edited
/etc/freeradius/sites-available/defaullt and inner-tunnel files, adding a
clause similar to the current ones, as follow (the unique condition is the
user belongs to IPS LDAP group):
if .....
.......
elsif (LDAP-Group == "IPS") {
update reply {
Reply-Message = "Hello %{User-Name}: Access enabled
to Firepower"
}
ok
}
else {
reject
}
and the Freeradius debug output is this:
rlm_ldap::ldap_groupcmp: User found in group WiFi-Corp
[ldap] ldap_release_conn: Release Id: 0
? Evaluating (LDAP-Group == "IPS") -> TRUE
++? elsif (LDAP-Group == "IPS") -> TRUE

Dear community,
after lots of hours invest in reading and troubleshooting I´ve decided to honestly ask for your support.
Main objective ist to authorize Windows Client (Win 7 & 10) for wifi-access via wpa-enterprise when user is membership in a specific windows-group (ldap group authorization). But first of all I try to bring up the basic authentication against Active Directory.
Current state is the following
1.) radtest bob hello localhost 0 testing123 -> Received Access-Accept -> so PAP Authentication works fine
2.) ntlm_auth --request-nt-key --domain=stadt-woerth --username=testuser1 --password=password -> NT_STATUS_OK: Success (0x0) -> NTLM_AUTH Authentication is fine
3.) radtest -t mschap testuser1 password localhost 0 testing123 -> Received Access-Accept -> so MSCHAP Authentication with NTLM_AUTH works fine
But Win10 Computers nevertheless can´t authenticate. I kindly ask for hints how to move forward. Attached the debug log from freeradius start an win10 logon. Username is testuser1.

I am trying to use http://wiki.freeradius.org/guide/eduroam to port my
existing eduroam configuration from FreeRadius 2 to 3.0.15
I have an LDAP backend and would like to use LDAP binding to
authenticate the user.
So far, the authorize is OK, but the Auth-Type is set to inner-eap and
it will not try another LDAP bind in the authentication section:

In version2, I used to have:
server eduroam-inner-tunnel {
authorize {
auth_log
suffix
eap
mschap
pap
ldap_wifi
}
authenticate {
Auth-Type PAP {
pap
}
Auth-Type MS-CHAP {
mschap
}
ldap_wifi
eap
}
Thanks in advance,
Olivier

Hello,
How are you ?
I am trying to find a way to allow every user name and password to connect to my wifi network. I tried to put :
DEFAULT Auth-Type := Accept in the /etc/raddb/users file
and I change also the source code file : cryptpasswd like this :
sub main {
Getopt::Long::Configure("no_ignore_case", "bundling");
my @options = ( "des|d+", "md5|m+", "check|c+" );
usage() unless (eval { Getopt::Long::GetOptions(@options) } );
if ($opt_check) {
usage unless ($#ARGV == 1);
if (crypt($ARGV[0], $ARGV[1]) ne $ARGV[1]) {
print "Password BAD\n";
return 1; # 0
} else {
print "Password OK\n";
return 1;
}
}
$opt_des = 1 unless ($opt_des || $opt_md5);
usage() unless ($#ARGV == 0);
die "DES password hashing not available\n"
if ($opt_des && !check_des());
die "MD5 password hashing not available\n"
if ($opt_md5 && !check_md5());
$salt = ($opt_md5 ? '$1$' : '');
for ($i = 0; $i < ($opt_md5 ? 8 : 2); $i++) {
$salt .= $saltc[rand 64];
}
$salt .= '$' if ($opt_md5);
print crypt($ARGV[0], $salt), "\n";
1;
}
But it still doesn't work, does anyone have any idea of where to change the code to accept password matching ?
Thank you !
David

Hi all,
Trying to get the hang of this EAP-TLS thing on my iPhone. I did finally
get a p12 cert working on my phone. But now when I connect, it asks me to
trust a cert.
I've tried installing the ca.pem and the ca.der on my iPhone several times
now, no luck.
Similarly, when I connect via Linux, I'm able to do so without showing my
ca.pem. But Linux doesn't ask me to trust a cert--any clues what's going on?
Let me know if there are config file I can help you have?
CV!
