Hello,
I'm trying to setup a freeradius v.3.0.20 server using LDAP with MFA
(Google authenticator).
The LDAP part worked, however, since I added the MFA configuration, it
doesn't work anymore, it seems that the password are not even checked
against the ldap database (Windows AD).
I followed this tutorial to get it working:
https://sysopstechnix.com/enable-2fa-on-freeradius-with-openldap-users/
Here is part of the logs :

I thought I had put the IP address 172.xx.x.x/18 in the correct spot for it to allow any requests from my APs through and be authorized but I keep getting this error.
Ignoring request to auth address * port 1812 bound to server default from unknown client 127.0.0.1 port 52623 proto udp
Anyone have any ideas exactly where I am supposed to put my information in?
This is where I placed in it the clients.conf file
client localhost {
# Only *one* of ipaddr, ipv4addr, ipv6addr may be specified for
# a client.
#
# ipaddr will accept IPv4 or IPv6 addresses with optional CIDR
# notation '/<mask>' to specify ranges.
#
# ipaddr will accept domain names e.g. example.org resolving
# them via DNS.
#
# If both A and AAAA records are found, A records will be
# used in preference to AAAA.
ipaddr = 172.xx.x.x/18

Hello everyone!
I’m writing here because of a problem I’m having trying to do a specific
thing with FreeRADIUS 3.0.17.
For a university project, I need to setup a malicious access point that
lets everyone connect to its Wi-Fi network in order to perform some traffic
analysis.
Previously, using FreeRADIUS v2.2.8 I managed to do this by simply putting
update control {
Auth-Type := Accept
}
in the authorize section of the inner-tunnel. Everything worked fine and I
could connect to the Wi-Fi network using any combination of username,
password and authentication method (PEAP/TTLS for phase 1 and any other
method in phase 2).
Recently, however, I had to switch to a Raspberry Pi 3B+ to use as access
point. Here I downloaded the 3.0.17 version, which is the only one
available through apt-get.
Configuring v3.0.17 in the same way I did with v.2.2.8, however, I get
really weird results. Basically, using iOS (14, but I don’t think it’s a
matter of version) I can still connect to the same Wi-Fi using any username
and password. If I use Android, instead, I can’t connect even using the
correct password. A subportion of the logs I get from running in debug mode
is this one:
(8) eap_peap: Session established. Decoding tunneled attributes
(8) eap_peap: PEAP state send tlv success
(8) eap_peap: Received EAP-TLV response
(8) eap_peap: Client rejected our response. The password is probably
incorrect
(8) eap_peap: ERROR: We sent a success, but the client did not agree
(8) eap: ERROR: Failed continuing EAP PEAP (25) session. EAP sub-module
failed
(8) eap: Sending EAP Failure (code 4) ID 179 length 4
The log in its entirety is attached at the end of this post.
So FreeRADIUS sends an Access Accept, but the mobile phone rejects it.
Again, this only happens with Android smartphones, not with iPhones. The
method I use, now only works for TTLS/PAP, not for PEAP or TTLS/MSCHAP.
Is there still a way to accomplish what I could do in v2.2.8 but in
v.3.0.17? Did anybody notice a different behavior between iOS and Android
smartphones?
Thanks everyone!

It looks like there's a last-minute bug introduced in 3.0.24 which breaks the server. Sorry. :( It passed all of the regression tests, so we'll need to update the tests.
Matthew will be releasing 3.0.25 shortly to fix the issue.
A major issue with current development is that v4 is taking longer than we'd like. The end goal is in sight, but there's still a lot of work to do. We believe the result will be worth it, and surprisingly simple / powerful / useful.
But in the mean time, we do need to get new functionality into v3. So after some internal discussion, our way forward is this:
* Matthew will release 3.0.25 shortly
* after that, the v3.0.x branch will be frozen for everything other than security fixes
* we will create a v3.2.0 branch which will contain all new development for v3
* 3.2.0 will be 99.99% compatible with 3.0, so any upgrade will be painless. The same configuration files can be used
The goal is to have a clear distinction between "stable" 3.0, and "new feature" 3.2.
Sorry again for the issues.
Alan DeKok.

I am trying to figure out what could be causing this issue with FreeRadius and Google LDAP. I am getting a few errors when FreeRadius is trying to search for the user. I bolded the Error spots. I have tried multiple different username and password combos in the LDAP section, even tried it without. The accounts I have tested with have Super admin access and then I have triple checked the info when it's the Google LDAP credentials.

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to provide some guidance
I was talking about the comments here
https://github.com/FreeRADIUS/mod_auth_radius
In the example I provided I tried to follow OTP workaround provided by you
in the mod_auth_radius
The password mismatch issue seems to be related to Yubikey module
complaining about REPLAYED_OTP ( I am using same password/username/key as
few seconds ago when it worked)
many thanks
Steven

Hi All,
I am trying to configure the "Session Timeout" in Freeradius , so that it
can follow the text below from specs.
https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3580.txt
When sent in an Access-Challenge, this attribute represents the
maximum number of seconds that an IEEE 802.1X Authenticator should
wait for an EAP-Response before retransmitting. In this case, the
Session-Timeout attribute is used to load the suppTimeout constant
within the backend state machine of IEEE 802.1X
I tried changing the sites-available/default and added the
"Session-Timeout := 7200" in below section, but still i can't see
"Session-timeout" parameter in "Access Challenge" request. After doing
that I restarted the freeradius .
I am using freeradius 3.0.16.
Is it the correct path, i am following?
post-auth {
#
# If you need to have a State attribute, you can
# add it here. e.g. for later CoA-Request with
# State, and Service-Type = Authorize-Only.
#
# if (!&reply:State) {
# update reply {
# State := "0x%{randstr:16h}"
# }
# }
#
# For EAP-TTLS and PEAP, add the cached attributes to the reply.
# The "session-state" attributes are automatically cached when
# an Access-Challenge is sent, and automatically retrieved

Hi,
I am trying to get freeradius + AD + Yubikey as authentication mechanism
for some of our websites
It is working on and off which makes it very difficult to troubleshoot
I noticed some notes / comments in the module but apparently I am not able
to implement them properly although they seem pretty clear
It will be greatly appreciated if you can point me to what am I doing wrong
Example
folder protected
/var/www/html/test/user
file needed to be used
/var/www/html/test/user/index.php
I put another file named index.html containing a link to index.php in the
above folder
I can connect to it after authenticate but , when I am using the link I
created to index.php, I am asked again to authenticate which fails with
"password mismatched" error
I know I must be missing something really simple and I apologize for
wasting your time with this but I am a bit desperate to get it working
Thanks
Steven

Hello,
Would you know how to set a static IP address for a remote access
connection on Cisco ASA?
I tried using standard reply attributes "Framed-IP-Address" and
"Framed-IP-Netmask", but it's just ignoring those without a specific error.
Looking at table 34-2 here:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa91/configuration/gene…
this comes as no surprise as they mention an attribute called
"IETF-Radius-Framed-IP-Address" but don't associate it to an attribute
number.
I have looked at /usr/share/freeradius/dictionary.cisco.asa but don't
find anything that looks appropriate.
It can't be that difficult setting a static IP, there is just no
documentation anywhere.
Surely someone has done this before?
Thanks,
Marki

There is Freeradius 3.0.23 on Ubuntu 18.04LTS x64 and some HPE and
Mikrotik managed switches with HP-NAS-Filter-Rule and
Mikrotik-Switching-Filter Radius attributes (rfc4849) supporting.
I want to restrict src-address for each switch physical port after success
authentication, for example:
- switch port 1, MAC a1:b1:c1:d1:e1:f1 - allowing src IP is 192.168.0.20
only, all other IPs are denied;
- switch port 2, MAC a2:b2:c2:d2:e2:f2 - allowing src IP is 192.168.0.30
only, all other IPs are denied;
- switch ports 3-16, MAC a3:b3:c3:d3:e3:f3 - allowing src IP is
192.168.0.40 only, all other IPs are denied.
May somebody tell where, which configuration files, should some attributes
looks like
HP-NAS-Filter-Rule = "allow port 1 MAC a1:b1:c1:d1:e1:f1 src-IP
192.168.0.20 dst-IP any"
HP-NAS-Filter-Rule += "allow port2 MAC a2:b2:c2:d2:e2:f2 src-IP
192.168.0.30 dst-IP any"
HP-NAS-Filter-Rule += "allow port3 MAC a3:b3:c3:d3:e3:f3 src-IP
192.168.0.30 dst-IP any"
....
NAS-Filter-Rule += "allow port16 MAC a3:b3:c3:d3:e3:f3 src-IP 192.168.0.30
dst-IP any"
to be added to ?
And what format is it ?
