Hello Alan & FreeRadius Team,
I am using FreeRadius with Google Secure LDAP & WPA2 Enterprise Auth and
it's working great!
I have a new requirement to integrate FreeRadius and pfSense for Admin/UI
login and VPN authentication. I have successfully configured pfSense and
FreeRadius for user authentication, but I am trying to return the user's
LDAP group membership in a semi-colon (;) delimited reply:Class attribute
as required by pfSense (see
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/usermanager/radius.html)
I have managed to return the LDAP memberOf values to the default site
post-auth section, and using unlang foreach I have successfully created a
comma (,) delimited reply:Class attribute. The issue is pfSense requires
the reply:Class list to be semi-colon delimited, and I don't see an obvious
way of changing the delimiter used by %{Attr-Name[*]}.
Is there a way to create a semi-colon (;) delimiter list from a multi
valued attribute?
Thank you in advance.
This is my default site post-auth:
foreach &reply:ldapMemberOf {
if ("%{Foreach-Variable-0}" =~ /cn=([^,=]+)/) {
update reply { classMemberOf += "%{1}" }
}
}
update reply { Class = "%{reply:classMemberOf[*]}"
Please note, 'classMemberOf' and 'ldapMemberOf' are non response attributes
(3000 & 3001) I added to the dictionary. The ldap module populates
'ldapMemberOf' with the value of the users 'memberOf' in the ldap.update
section:
reply:ldapMemberOf += 'memberOf'
Here's the relevant server debug; note user has 5 assigned groups:

** Getting started with FreeRADIUS
---------------------------------------
After an administrator installs FreeRADIUS for the first time, the big question is “Now what?”. Most sites need complex policies, interactions with databases, and logging. Yet the documentation for the server doesn’t give detailed instructions for how to configure the server for your particular location. As a result, many administrators are left wandering around the configuration files and documentation, wondering what to do next.

FreeRADIUS is an open source implementation of the RADIUS protocol and was written by Alan DeKok in 1999.
Network RADIUS is a private, for-profit company founded by Alan DeKok which provides commercial support for FreeRADIUS. The Network RADIUS team has been the primary contributor to FreeRADIUS for the last 20 years. The FreeRADIUS mailing list, wiki, and documentation are all moderated and maintained by the Network RADIUS team.
FreeRADIUS has always been, and will always continue to be, open source. The Network RADIUS team provides commercial support to paying clients, and free product development for the FreeRADIUS community at large.
All of our software development for FreeRADIUS is integrated into the Open Source platform, and will always continue to be.

Hi all,
how can I modify NAS-Port-Id attribute value (truncate string operation)
before it gets recorded in MySQL database.
I've read about ulang and understand that /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default
file should be modified.
which section "post-auth", "preacct", "accounting" should I modify ?
Is there another way to do it ?
Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
I need a basic input to (if possible) fix my problem:
now my radius is verifying only SIM (we're talking a private APN) with
only Calling-Station-Id and I disabled the pap and chap as below
[...]
authenticate {
#
# PAP authentication, when a back-end database listed
# in the 'authorize' section supplies a password. The
# password can be clear-text, or encrypted.
Auth-Type PAP {
# pap
ok
}
[...]
but in a near future a different client will be authenticate with
User-Name, Cleartext-Password and Calling-Station-Id (always coming from
a private APN): how can I manage those different requests ?
I thought a simple "if" into the file site-enabled/default in the
authorize/preprocess section:
if (ClearText-Password == "Void") {
update attribute {
ClearText-Password := "--"
}
}
and re-enabling the verify of the password in in authenticate section.
But it seems too easy :)
Cheers,
Angelo

Hello dear Freeradius support,
Setup: Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 LTS, Freeradius 3.0.20
so what i'm trying to configure is to set up a freeradius server to authorize and authenticate as user against a ldap server, so users provided in the ldap can access our wifi.
when the authorize with ldap is done (6) the auth-type isn't set properly, it should set it to ldap there doesn't it?
When I tried to manually set auth-type to ldap to test the behaviour, debug ouptuts that User-Password is required, the ldap user isn't able to read the ldap passwords duo to security reasons, that's why I want to bind as the user which shouldn't have a problem with that does it?
Am I doing something wrong with the ldap module or anything else or do I have to have permission to read user passwords in ldap to get what I want?
Thanks in advance

In 2.x I can add a attributes in radcheck table use the =~ operator, and a regex xxx.xxx.xxx.1|xxx.xxx.xxx.2
insert into radcheck (username,attribute,op,value) values ('username','NAS-IP-Address','=~','xxx.xxx.xxx.1|=xxx.xxx.xxx.2');
but in 3.x it failed, follow is error message
(1) sql: ERROR: Error parsing value: Failed resolving "=xxx.xxx.xxx.1|=xxx.xxx.xxx.2" to IPv4 address: Name or service not known
(1) sql: ERROR: Error parsing user data from database result
(1) sql: ERROR: Error getting check attributes
what can I do?

Hi Folks,
Is there any way to create a custom attribute list as there are for "request", "config", "session-state", "reply"?
New attributes can be created with a dictionary file but is there similar way to create a new list?
Background is that I want to use the linelog module and the xlat expansion, e.g. %{pairs:reply:}, but don't want to log EAP stuff and MPPE session keys etc, but it would be nice to have the possibility to use the dynamic expansion of these lists.
In a Python module I have tried to return these attributes in a new list
```
reply = { 'reply': (('Reply-Message', 'hello'),), 'customlist': (('Nice-Attribute', 'hi again'),) }
return (radiusd.RLM_MODULE_OK, reply)
```
but of course it's not creating a new list magically.
Since I didn't find anything in the documentation, the answer is probably no but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Regards,
Lineconnect
