Problems starting FreeRadius after 3.0.23 install

Hi Have just installed Freeradius 3.0.23 on my CentOS 7 test-servers as described in https://networkradius.com/packages/ . I'm not using LDAP so I've skipped that part. I'm also not using radiusd:radiusd as userid:groupid due to administrative naming rules, but got a xxxxrad:xxxxrad as userid:groupid instead. I've changed ownership for all files under /etc/raddb and /var/log/radiusd to xxxxrad:xxxxrad, changed user and group in radius.conf accordingly. Also copied the supplied /usr/lib/systemd/system/radiusd.service into /etc/systemd/system/radiusd.service and changed User and Group here too. Running radius -X as root gives no error messages. When starting radius through systemctl start radiusd I get "Failed to start FreeRADIUS multi-protocol policy server." Doing su - xxxxrad and the running radius -X gives these messages: Failed binding to interface net1: Operation not permitted /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default[59]: Error binding to port for 10.141.8.20 port 1812 I've removed the comment that was in front of the CapabilityBoundingSet=CAP_NET_ADMIN CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE CAP_NET_BROADCAST CAP_NET_RAW CAP_SETUID CAP_SETGID CAP_CHOWN CAP_DAC_OVERRIDE In radius.service. ./PerW

EAP TTLS woes

I am testing EAP TTLS with Android and finding some mixed results. FR 3.0.23 - bad talloc magic value - unknown value

Hi, I tried to upgrade my radius server from version 3.0.22 to 3.0.23. First i thought it worked but after few moments radiusd crashes with the follow notification: --bad talloc magic value - unknown value-- If i restart radiusd it works for few seconds and it also crashes with the same error. Im using ntlm_auth, eap, mschap for authentication against my samba4 AD DC. No problems in version 3.0.22. I rolled back to 3.0.22. BR ff

hello .i really need help .i have a Microsoft Active Directory in my network as a user database , and i installed freeradius as my radius server for wireless users and i have mikrotik router which i implement Nat ,Qos and Queue for bandwidth management .i integrate my freeradius with Active Directory so wireless user can authenticate via Active Directory. but my problem is how can i send user attributes to mikrotik for limiting RX and Tx bandwidth while users are not in Freeradius user file . how can i tell mikrotik to create a queue for that user which authenticates via Active Directory. thank you

Problem when trying to store NAS-Port-ID into radpostauth table

Hi, I added a column to the radpostauth table to store the NAS-Port-ID, but I am noticing a strange behaviour for a specific type of NAS. Using tcpdump, I can see that the NAS-Port-Id attributes arrives in the following format: NAS-Port-Id Attribute (87), length: 38, Value: slot=0;subslot=2;port=1;vlanid=1110; But when I check what is being stored in the radpostauth table and in the radacct table, I get something like this: slot=3D3D0=3D3Bsubslot=3D3D2=3D3Bport=3D3D0=3D3Bvlanid=3D3D1001=3D3B I am using the following expression in my queries.conf to get the value of this attribute from the request: NULLIF('%{%{NAS-Port-ID}:-%{NAS-Port}}', '') It seems like unlang is encoding the value somehow. Do you guys have any suggestion?
