Hi all,
I have configuring a FreeRadius, and I need to go through a IAS to reach the
eduroam federation. I created a realm for our local domain, created a
DEFAULT proxy for users with other domains pointing to the IAS server, both
are as clients of each other, share the same secret, and also defined a
Remote access policy in IAS.
Tried already some alternatives, and inserted Reply-Message = "Yes", as
suggested on another post in the list.
Despite all the efforts, when talking with the IAS, I receive back the error
Proxy-State = 0x3137.
Any advice?

Hi,
I have managed to setup freeradius to authenticate against AD without any
issues using ntlm_auth.
I would also like to allow users with username(a)example.com.au to be able to
login and authenticate against AD as well.
Currently I'm facing issues with it.
Example of error log:

my AD is setup like this:
example.com.au -> top level
staff.example.com.au -> sub branches with staff profile
student.example.com.au -> sub branches with student profile
Samba is binded to the top level example.com.au
normally sending the username as staff\user works fine via and if logged in
on windows domain via Windows OS.
How can i allow for user(a)example.com.au to also authenticate AD vi
ntlm_auth or is it possible to strip the domain and append the domain\user.
I did go through all the documentation and mailinglist and wiki but could
not get it running.
Would greatly appreciate someones help.

Bom dia pessoal.
Uso ubuntu-server 10.10.
Tenho freeradius 2.1.9 + Postgres 8.2 integrados a mikrotik.
Situação:
Toda vez que preciso reiniciar o meu mikrotik com aproximadamente 600
clientes autenticados, log após o reboot, o freeradius não suporta a
carga de solicitação das autenticações do mikrotik, e retorna no log
como "Auth: Invalid user:"
Gostaria de saber se no freeradius existe a opção "Simultaneous-Use"
para aumentar a capacidade de autenticação simultânea de usuários.
Ou se existe alguma outra solução.
Agradeço desde já.

Good morning everyone,
I am running in a dead-end at the moment while configuring 2 FreeRADIUS
instances (Version 2.1.8+dfsg-1ubuntu1) installed via apt, under Ubuntu
Server 10.04.3 64 bit.
Both FreeRADIUS instances are configured as follows:
Server C: Only running MySQL, Apache2 and PHP5 with daloRADIUS 0.9.9
Server A and B: Both running FreeRADIUS, Autentication process is done via
LAN to MySQL on Server C. This configuracion gives no trouble, as radtest
outputs the following:
/Sending Access-Request of id 244 to 192.168.6.5 port 1812
User-Name = "pruebas"
User-Password = "surf"
NAS-IP-Address = 192.168.6.3
NAS-Port = 1812
rad_recv: Access-Accept packet from host 192.168.6.5 port 1812, id=244,

Idle-Timeout = 60/
Then I need Accounting to be sync between servers A and B, because if server
A fails, when Server B receives the request, prints on the screen "Received
logout request, but no Login was received", and same happen on server A when
server B fails.
First I readed about detail file, that should be renamed the line
/detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/detail-%Y%m%d/
to
/detailfile = ${radacctdir}/detail/ in //etc/freeradius/modules/detail/
And added, under //etc/freeradius/sites-available/default/ file, in the
section /accounting {} / the line /detail/
And then I uncommented, in the same file, under the sections /accounting {}/
and /post-auth {}/ the line /sql_log/ to enable the module (I want
Accounting data to be stored in MySQL databases, tell me if I am wrong if
that module does that, so I can disable it), and everytime I execute the
/radtest/ command, new lines are added, in the file defined in
//etc/freeradius/modules/sql_log/, /path = "${radacctdir}/sql-relay"/
With the above configuration, when I start /freeradius -X/, gives no error,
and waits for Autentication packets to be processed.
Finally, I added a symbolic link in //etc/freeradius/sites-enabled/,
pointing to /../sites-available/copy-acct-to-home-server/, and when I start
/freeradius -X/ it ends in a non-stop loop:

Hi,
Our provider is sending the calling-station-id usually larger than 50 characters while the schema for RADIPPOOL table in MYSQL has defined this field for 30 CHARACTERS. because of this we are seeing unusual behaviour in IP address assignment as first 35 characters are same for all users and last part varies. I want to change it to 100. Is it advisable to change the field schema in RADIPPOOL?

Hello,
I am using a certificate from incommon for eap/peap setup. It works
with Windows 7 when validate certificate is enabled but not with
Windows XP. Windows XP works only without
the certificate validation. Following is the error that I am getting
with Windows XP system:

Do we need to do something special for Windows XP systems?

hello
I have a Linksys WRT-110 router which supports various security
mechanisms: WPA & WPA2 Personal, WPA Enterprise and Radius
authentication.
Today WPA2 Personal use where all my clients use the same key or
password to connect.
I want to change this so that each user can connect with username and
password in a personal way, I was thinking my router to authenticate
against a radius server.
google search and it turns out all the variations I have encountered
are implementing freeradius with PEAP TLS and mysql which should
generate certificates and then configure the client and in turn
install these certificates to the exchange between the server and
client.
I was wondering, there is some other simpler way that does not imply
that this set up or install certificates on the client side?
Well, I have several clients with different operating systems:
Windows, Linux, Apple.
Something as simple as putting the username and password.
It OpenWrt I saw as another variant to follow and the router does not
appear in the list of supported devices.
Ideas?

Hi,
Will a wrong password also will sometimes log 'invalid user' in the RADIUS log file? Coz recently i get a lot of these in the log file. But the users are actually valid and was able to authenticate successfully later on. Just want to get possible reasons on what could be causing RADIUS to log that. I'm also suspecting perhaps it was not able to lookup/connect to MySQL db at that time. Would that be possible cause also?
