Hi
Having a problem with getting freeradius to kick users off when their time
has expired. using mysql, all modules loaded and sqlcounter included in
radiusd.conf but still not working. i've cross-checked the sql settings in
authorize and accounting section and sql is # (commented) out.
any ideas.

Dear FreeRADIUS users,
I need to send a copy of all accounting RADIUS our FreeRADIUS receives to another FreeRADIUS that is configured to send no accounting response.
How can I configure my proxy RADIUS to not expect for a response for the requests our FreeRADIUS send?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Cristina Miyata

Hi,
I am in the process of setting up freeRADIUS on Mac OSX. We're a small
group looking into becoming a WISP. Can anyone tell me if there is a
RAS that runs on OSX?
The install of freeRADIUS itself seems to have gone smoothly, and I
installed MySQL 5.1 as well, no hitches. I have not, tho, found out
how to tell is freeRADIUS is actually running or not.
Thanks in advance for all help.

Hi,
I have a running FreeRADIUS installation (v 1.1.3-1.4 - as supplied by
Red Hat), which is happily authing my local users
(<login>@canterbury.ac.uk) via ntlm to active directory on Windows, this
is achieved by matching my local domain in the proxy.conf . All other
requests it passes on to an NRPS as part of the JANET Eduroam service
via the DEFAULT realm.
I do however need to add in certficate based authentication for a pool
of loan laptops which will not be using local auth (at the laptop end
and will be dealt with elsewhere with the services that they access) and
this is proving problematic and leaves me with some questions:
1. since the user names on these pool machines are likely to be of the
form: host/testlaptop.another.domain - how can I ensure that I match
the domain entry since there is no '@' in the user name? ie drop the
host/testlaptop and just leave me with .another.domain
2. how do I configure an additional an tls type within eap using a
different set of certificates? These laptops will have autogenerated
certs installed that point back to a root CA within a Windows Domain, I
already have certs installed based around the NRPS but for these laptops
we will be using our own CA cert which will not be signed off elsewhere
- but we can at least install the CA cert onto the laptops as part of
the build to fix up the trust relationships.
Or assuming that I can get 1 (above) working, am I better off just
proxing the entire auth request onto another radius server? Which does I
admit seem a little overkill.
Thoughts, comments etc are more than welcome.
Follows at the end is a copy of the debug output which may be is use
(note that I have deliberately anonymised the IP addresses etc in the
output).
Regards
Paul

Hello,
I have to plan an upgrade of my freeradius setup.
I am wondering if I shall upgrade now to 2.1.6 or wait until the next
comming 2.1.7 release.
What are the new features, improvements, or bug fixes that should come
with 2.1.7?
Is there Major leacks in 2.1.6?
thanks

Hi List,
I need to replace an old vpn solution with freeradius. The clients
connect to a Cisco NAS, which authenticates them with the old
radius software, which uses LDAP as backend. The clients use Cisco VPN
client. This is the present, and it works.
The future should be: Cisco VPN client, Cisco NAS, freeradius and ldap. The
freeradius server is installed and configured, it can process requests from
command line.
The problem is that the Cisco VPN client uses a group name+password pair.
The username is given to the NAS with the password "cisco", and the
username/password pair should be entered after this.
How is this possible with freeradius? I'm using version 1.1.

My current setup is Freeraidus 2.0.4 connecting to OpenLDAP with PEAP
authentication. Currently I have it working with all of our Linux and
Mac clients and to an extent our Windows clients. I am trying to make
connecting as simple as possible for the user. I can get the Windows
clients to work if I uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon
name and password (and domain if any)" option on the XP supplicant under
the configure button for the MSCHAP authentication method.
I would like to leave that option checked however when I do so the
rlm_ldap fails because it is looking up DOMAIN\5cUSER. I have searched
around a found a few leads but most of the deal with authenticating with
ActiveDirectory and even if I do try their suggestions it doesn't seem
to work. Output is below any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
