EAP/TTLS : Issue while trying to proxy inner request and to use post proxy filter

Hello, Sorry to post again for the same subject, but I guess I haven't been very clear in my last question to the list, so I'm trying to ask it differently. I've done some drawing that illustrate the settings I've tried and also provide the whole log, that could be seen here http://www.brozs.net/wimax/wimax-freeradius.png In Setup 1 (one radius with local authentication) everything is fine http://www.brozs.net/wimax/wimax.log In setup 2 (inner request proxy to ISP radius that will answer with Wimax Attribute) -> In that case Wholesale Radius will discard Wimax attributes contains in the access accept from the ISP radius during the proxification, so that the access accept does not have all the wanted access acccept. I'm trying to understand why. http://www.brozs.net/wimax/wimax-proxy1.log In setup 3 (which is the solution I would like to use, ie inner request proxy to ISP radius, and Wimax attributes are being added after receiving the access accept from ISP Radius) -> In that case Wholesale Radius will add some of the wanted attribute but not all the one that are in attrs I'm also trying to know why. http://www.brozs.net/wimax/wimax-proxy2.log Regards Thomas

Hello , I am trying to use freeradius1.1.7 with ldap . Now when i try to authenticate user from localhost , it works but when i try from laptop it does not work . . it shows User-Password attribute required .. I tried to remove AUTH TYPE = LDAP as alan suggested but i am not things work .. it shows error in even running the server ...!! Please help me ..Probably i could not understand the thing alan wanted me to do ..!! Please be more elaborate on the topic ...!!! Thanks and Regards,

Parameter to limit user traffic in RouterOS

I'm using RouterOS and radclient to pass parameter using PPP protocol. example: echo "User-Name := user" | radclient xx.xx.xx.xxy: port disconnect [secret] But now I need a parameter to limit user traffic of download/upload to 6 GB. If pppoe user connection reach that limit so connectios is droped. I'was reading a mk documentation which website is http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/3.0/aaa/ppp.php and I've found in the session Monitoring Active PPP Users: limit-bytes-in (read-only: integer) - maximal amount of bytes the user is allowed to send to the router limit-bytes-out (read-only: integer) - maximal amount of bytes the router is allowed to send to the client Are there a way to send that to RouterOS using radclient? -- -hUgLeO-♑

Windows XP hangs forever during PEAP auth on freeradius with winbind/AD backend

Hello all, I've been at this for two full days with no luck so I hope that folks here will take me under their wing. :-> I am trying to setup freeradius so that hosts running windows XP/SP2 can be authenticated via .1x. when plugged in to a 3Com 3226 switch. The freeradius server version is 2.1.4, built from source, I added SSL libraries since Debian's deb for freeradius doesn't ship with them. My server is running Debian Lenny. I am using winbind to provide authentication services to Windows AD 2003/sp2. I am following the directions posted on the freeradius wiki (which is a bit out of date btw) http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO I can list domain users via wbinfo -u and getent passwd. and doing wbinfo -a raduser%testing123 yields plaintext password authentication succeeded challenge/response password authentication succeeded ntlm_auth --request-nt-key --domain=VANGUARD --username=raduser password: NT_STATUS_OK: Success (0x0) However doing radtest fails, but read on before you jump to conclusions... radtest raduser testing123 localhost 0 testing123 Sending Access-Request of id 144 to 127.0.0.1 port 1812 User-Name = "raduser" User-Password = "testing123" NAS-IP-Address = 10.1.1.51 NAS-Port = 0 rad_recv: Access-Reject packet from host 127.0.0.1 port 1812, id=144, length=20 I believe my problem resembles the description on the FAQ re: windows machines http://wiki.freeradius.org/index.php/FAQ#PEAP_or_EAP-TLS_Doesn.27t_Work_wit… I have patched the windows client per the instructions but no dice. I read the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814394/en-us but it is my understanding that freeradius supports winxp crafted certificates (via certs/xpextensions) out of the box when it builds the example certs in /etc/freeradius/certs so I am not sure what to do here Wireshark shows me that after the windows machine is plugged into my 3com switch on a port which is configured for radius that the windows client makes an Access-Request and receives and Access-Challenge. Is my switch really communicating .1x with Freeradius?

Hello all, I am struggling to get a windowsXP client to authenticate to freeradius. I've set up winbind/samba and radtest works from the command line on the freeradius server. However the client doesn't seem to be able to contact the server when attached to a switch which supports .1x. During testing with wireshark I noticed that my switch (a 3com 3226) is sending EAP failure messages in response to the XP clients eap request. I don't see anything in the debug output of the freeradius server when I run it with /usr/sbin/freeradius -X It seems to me that my 3Com switch isn't really communicating with the freeradius server. Can someone help me figure out how to make sure that my NAS is talking to the server? Thanks! John
