mysql driver for debian

hi i want to install freeradius 2.1.1 into debian system. i think there is no package for 2.1.1 for debian when i try to install wiht apt-get install freeradius, it install an old package, so i download freeradius-server-2.1.1.tar.gz and write this commands ./configure make make install it is working fine, but i want to use mysql db i installed mysql and create radius db wiht schema and configure sql.conf files but radius -X says rlm_sql_mysql driver not found how too add mysql driver for debian system i tried to intall wiht apt-get install freeradius-mysql but it intalled mysql driver for old version. how can i configure it thanks for help best regards. _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Messenger'ın için Ücretsiz 30 İfadeyi yükle http://www.livemessenger-emoticons.com/funfamily/tr-tr/

Wi-Fi and LDAP password auth

Hi, I've got a couple of Wi-Fi APs that support "802.1X" (3Com 7760), so I want to configure them to authorize client connections based on user information stored in an LDAP server (Fedora Directory Server, all users already have "samba" type password hashes). My first question for the list, to which I haven't been able to find a clear answer ever is : What EAP sub-types are the ones I should configure? My requirements : * Be able to have many different types of clients supported (Windows XP, GNU/Linux wpa_supplicant/NM, mobile devices etc.). * Not to have to bother about a local CA or any type of PKI (i.e. not generate certificates for all users, just have them user their login/pass). I used to have a working EAP-PEAP setup, with MSCHAPv2 IIRC, the current LDAP server and a Linksys AP. Unfortunately that setup is no more and I need to reconfigure one from scratch. Should I go with EAP-PEAP? Is that the "PEAPv0/EAP-MSCHAPv2" from the wiki? I also store md5 passwords in my LDAP server, is there any other simpler way to configure access using those instead of the LM/NT passwords? (my understanding is that... nope) Sorry for all of these possibly silly questions, it's just that the more docs I read to try and implement what I need, the more I feel lost (which isn't a very good sign). vsa and authenticate-only service-type

Hi The pam_radius module currently uses the service-type authenticate-only when sending an access-request. The rfc says this about "authenticate only": Only Authentication is requested, and no authorization information needs to be returned in the Access-Accept Does this mean that if I want the server to send some VSA in the reply-message i should not use this? Unable to authenticate to Open Directory

I'm trying to use the version of FreeRadius built into OS X for wireless single sign-on and I'm running into some issues. I believe this has come up before and I found the following thread http://lists.freeradius.org/mailman/htdig/freeradius-users/2008-September/m… . I've tried to follow what was suggested there but it doesn't seem to be working. Can someone provide some slightly more thorough instructions of what I should be attempting? Authentication works perfectly for our Macintosh systems and any Windows machine if we don't send a domain for authentication but not when the domain is included. I can authenticate if I add DOMAIN \username as a username for one of the accounts but that's not a "clean" option as far as I'm concerned. No matter what I try with proxies, nthack, etc. I can't seem to get authentication to work for Windows machines. Kerry Tobin

check_cert_cn translation

We've noticed several people have posted their eap.conf for eap-tls troubleshooting, and that both the check_cert_issuer and check_cert_cn are commented out. In these configurations is freeradius just checking for the certificate in the crl list and that the proper CA root is in the CA_file on the freeradius server? What is gained by using check_cert_cn? When we have check_cert_cn enabled it seems that the User-Name is translated differently from different types of devices. When a test user with an iPhone tries to connect he receives errors, but the same certificate on a Microsoft Vista wireless client is successfully authenticated. We've seen this with both freeradius v1.1.7 and v2.1.1. Which file controls the User-Name translation? No. "no authorization information *needs* to be returned" - not required but you *can* do it if you want. >Is it OK to not send any service-type? Yes, that or any other attribute in the reply. SSID based checking for Simultaneous-Use?

Hi all, I'm using free radius 2.1.1. I got request from boss to enable simultaneous login checking for particular SSID. I've no idea since seems same groups of users may use different SSID's. Would anyone advise if Is it possible to do that? Thank you very much. Regards, /ST Wong
