Dear Fajar Yes, I have confirmed the external AAA is ok by sending same test request using radclient. They responded immediately since they are production RADIUS server. Yes, sure. I've set to 5 on num_of_sock yesterday. But the problem still exist. So I really doubt that why does the virtual server for our NMS would be affected especially under that frequency of check. Okis

Managing Data Volume Control More Than 4GB FR & CoovaChilli

Hi List Members i have been reading archives and tying to understand for some days now, but unsuccessful. i am currently working to extend data volume control up to 10GB, which is requirement for the organization. Is anyone able to manage more then 4GB using CoovaChilli & Freeradius? Since there is no one piece of information available on the net. Until now, i am unclear about the components needs to be fine tune. i understand that FR has 32 bit integers but it is not the limitation to manage more than 4GB, if NAS supports the "Gigaword" attributes. It seems that my "sql_counter" or MySQL it self is the problem. *NOTE: It is working setup up to 4GB, if i assigne 6GB to a user, counter rolls up on 4GB* 1.) I came across a post where guys are tell that sqlcounter module uses 32-bit integers in it's source code. Should it be change to 64-bit integers? 2.) CoovaChilli has built in support for "gigaword" attributes, which is enable. 3.) is it possible by rlm_sql or rlm_perl must be used 4.) rlm_pam not getting password?

I'm trying to authenticate against a pam module and running into difficulty and humbly beg for assistance. I am, of course, looking to do pap/ttls, which I hear is the only way. To summarize: 1. radtest works fine with static cleartext AND pam users 2. eapol_test with static cleartext user is fine 3. eapol_test with pam user - not fine. "rlm_pam: Attribute "User-Password" is required for authentication." Segfault calling OpenSSL library from Perl

Hi I have a Perl module that I call from FreeRadius (2.2.0), which makes calls to IO::Socket::SSL. I'm currently running this on Solaris 8 on a SPARC platform, with Perl, FreeRadius and OpenSSL all built from source, where it works fine. I'm trying to port it to Linux (Ubuntu 12.04). using the FreeRadius package from https://launchpad.net/~freeradius/+archive/stable. What I'm finding is that if run without threads enabled it's fine (initially I used -X, but I've tested with -s with the same result). If I allow threading, it crashes on the first request it receives with a segmentation fault. To do some debugging I rebuilt it using -with-developer, and used gdb to run it. This told me that the crash was in openssl_threadid_func in SSLeay.xs at line 272. Assuming that this was a problem with multiple OpenSSL versions, I forced rebuilds on IO::Socket::SSL and Net::SSLeay. I wondered about FreeRadius, but as far as I know there is only one version of OpenSSL on the system, and I left it to the configurator to find the library. The reference to the Perl SSLeay stub says to me that this is a conflict over OpenSSL between Perl and FreeRadius. If I omit the calls to "perl" from the FreeRadius config, all is OK. If I use the Perl module, but don't include calls the ultimately use the IO::Socket::SSL module, all is OK. I've tried a Perl test program that creates a thread and calls Net::SSLeay, and that works too, so it doesn't seem to be an inherent problem with Perl. I've been able to fix this by configuring the FreeRadius build to omit all modules that use SSL, and using -with-openssl=no. This now works, but I'd prefer to get to the bottom of the problem. I can't of course be sure that the home-built version is crashing for the same reason as the package, but I'd settle for a fix to either! Any thoughts on where I look next? OpenLDAP Groups

Hi, Is there some way to configure free radius to use openldap groups? Like.. My user1 is group ceo and can connect to the wifi lan… but user2 is at the group "nowifi" and then not allowed to connect at wifi lan. And is possible to identify the source of the connection? Some regex exp. Like: If username = user1 and source ip is = classB Allow connection to switch or wlc Else Reject ? Thanks Fajar for quick response! Now I know there exists mutual influence among virtual servers. 3.0.0: slightly confusing mods-config/files/authorize "John Doe"

Hi, as every year, I'm unleashing the most current version of FreeRADIUS on my unsuspecting students, to see if they find their way around. This year it was 3.0.0 (yesterday, nice timing!) and there was one unfortunate thing. 3.0.0 by default enables "files" for flatfile username and password storage, which is good. In mods-config/files/authorize, the first "normal" entry (not Reject, proper cleartext-password, not a DEFAULT entry, only a single harmless reply item) is the example of "John Doe". In 2.x.x, I used to tell folks that the John Doe entry is the example to uncomment and test auth against. With the shipped default config of 3.0.0 though, John Doe will be rejected even if his password is correct - the "filter_username" will block the user before he even gets to password checking. IMHO, the mods-config/files/authorize should either a) contain a "normal" user higher up, so that it springs to mind as "the thing to do". E.g. a johndoe instead of/before a "John Doe" b) the comments before "John Doe" should explain that for this example to work, filter_username needs to be disabled.
