Hello everyone, was wondering if I can use different passwords when making the certs for ca.cnf, server.cnf & client.cnf? What i mean is if it has to be the same password in "output_password" & "input_password" for all of the files? HI, I am trying to integrate FreeRadius and JRadius. I am using FreeRadius 2.1.8 and JRadius version 1.1.2 When I am running both the servers and sending any test packets to FreeRadius. I am getting Acces-Accept at FreeRadius side but it is not forwarding Packet to JRadius. I am getting the following log on FreeRadius side.. rlm_jradius: Reserving JRadius socket id: 7 rlm_jradius: packing attribute User-Name (type: 1; len: 8) rlm_jradius: packing attribute User-Password (type: 2; len: 6) rlm_jradius: packing attribute NAS-IP-Address (type: 4; len: 4) rlm_jradius: packing attribute Client-IP-Address (type: 1052; len: 4) rlm_jradius: packing attribute Module-Failure-Message (type: 1076; len: 24) rlm_jradius: packing packet with code: 1 (attr length: 106) rlm_jradius: packing packet with code: 0 (attr length: 0) rlm_jradius: packing attribute User-Password (type: 2; len: 6) rlm_jradius: packing attribute Auth-Type (type: 1000; len: 4) rlm_jradius: sending 172 bytes to socket 7 rlm_jradius: error sending request with socket 7 rlm_jradius: Closing JRadius connection 7 rlm_jradius: reconnecting socket id 7 rlm_jradius: sending 172 bytes to socket 7 rlm_jradius: error sending request with socket 7 rlm_jradius: problem packing the data[socket_send/first_read] rlm_jradius: Closing JRadius connection 7 rlm_jradius: Released JRadius socket id: 7 And at JRadius side I am getting the following logs: java.nio.BufferUnderflowException at java.nio.Buffer.nextGetIndex(Unknown Source) at java.nio.HeapByteBuffer.getInt(Unknown Source) at net.jradius.packet.Format.getUnsignedInt(Format.java:324) at net.jradius.freeradius.FreeRadiusListener.parseRequest(FreeRadiusListener.java:98) at net.jradius.server.ListenerRequest.getEventFromListener(ListenerRequest.java:78) at net.jradius.server.TCPListenerRequest.accept(TCPListenerRequest.java:70) at net.jradius.server.KeepAliveListener.run(KeepAliveListener.java:61) Please help me to understand the problem. whether the two versions are not compatible.

nospace_user has removed from freeradius?

I am using the freeradius 2.1.3 in Slackware 12 I use simultaneous-use = 1 to block a second conection for same user, it work fine. But, if the user has a space after username, like "john ", the freeradius let it to connect. Looking for remove de spaces I found the nospace_user and nospace_pass, but appers it was removed in 1.0.5 version. And now? To remove spaces at the end of string its very important to utmp detect the username. Exist something to fix it?

Hi, Thanks for replying. I already enabled sql in sites-enabled/default in accounting and authorize section and even in sessions section as well, which is optional, but unfortunately radius is unable to connect with MySQL. Even I can access the MySQL using radius credentials. IEEE 802.1x EAP-TLS Client Problems

Hi all, I am not able to authenticate a Client running openSUSE 11.2 against my Radius Server. Doing the same with an Ubuntu 9.10 live CD works. successfull authentication radius output: http://paste.debian.net/69138/ Here the radius output when I try to connect via opensuse with KNetworkmanager: http://paste.debian.net/69139/ the KNetworkmanager log says: http://paste.debian.net/69140/ Looks like the server gets not all messages from the client. I tried the same with wpa supplicant: http://paste.debian.net/69142/ and xsupplicant: http://paste.debian.net/69143/ No communication with the RADIUS server happened. I mean I got nothing on the Server side. I don't know what I should do next, I need it working with openSUSE 11.2, switching to ubuntu is no option. The log output does not say much (anything) to me. freeradius2 multiple realms auth off different database types

Greetings freeradius list members, I'm hoping one of the more experienced FR2 users might shed some light on a query I have, historically i've only worked with radiator so i am very much a novice with FR2. Is it possible to auth different realms off different database server types within the same FR2 configuration? ie. apples.com auth's off a mysql db pears.com auth's off Active Directory Regards Ronald

What nastype for Extreme switch?

Hi, all. I installed the AAA model Radius on my Extreme's switch and I am already able to log in into it, but I just enter in this device through the non-privileged mode ( > ). I was taking a look at http://linux.die.net/man/5/clients.conf and it says: ---------------------------- nastype The nastype attribute is used to tell the checkrad.pl script which NAS-specific method it should use when checking simultaneous use. The following values are currently recognized: cisco computone livingston max40xx multitech netserver pathras patton portslave tc usrhiper other ---------------------------- Which of these nastype values I must to use for Extreme devices?
