Authenticate to AD but only allow certain group

All, I've got authentication working nicely with MSCHAP, but now I'd like to only allow users that are members of a certain AD group. I would prefer to have this happen only when requests come from a specific client (wireless access point). In this case the idea is to have users only be able to get wireless access when they're in a specific AD group. How can I do this in freeradius? Thanks, Brian

Detailed Logging freeradius Request Packets

Hi, I've tried to find a way of detail logging the packets sent by freeradius to the client in the authentication phase but didn't found a way of doing it. Maybe I've not looked correctly so I'm asking if it's actually possible? I was able to log detailed packets sent by the client (Response packets) but not the ones sent by freeradius to the client (except accounting and proxied ones). Thanks for your time. 3.0.4: binary LDAP attributes

Hi everyone, Our (Red Hat) QA was testing the effect of this entry in 3.0.4 ChangeLog: * Modify pairparsevalue to deal with embedded NULLs better, and use the binary versions of attribute values in rlm_ldap. They have noticed that binary LDAP values get truncated on embedded zero characters (\0) in RADIUS replies, in radiusReplyMessage in particular. I.e. for radiusReplyMessage:: cmVwbHkgd2l0aCBhAGI= The response output by radtest was Reply-Message = 'reply with a' The network capture also showed that RADIUS reply packets contained truncated values. Is this intended, or was there a fix for this? In related discoveries, it seems that backslashes get removed from LDAP attribute values in RADIUS replies, so radiusReplyMessage: reply with a\0b becomes Reply-Message = 'reply with a0b' in radtest output. user-group for rejected users

Hello! Let´s suppose the following situations: 1) User exists but the password is wrong 2) User does not exist In both cases the answer is REJECT. It happens that certain hardware is making endless attempts that eventually saturating the server. - It is possible to cause the server, instead of rejecting the users, accept the login but responds ACCEPT with "framed-pool = pool-block" ? or/and - Is there any way to put REJECT users in a given group by default? No Logon Servers error with FreeRADIUS + NTLM

Hi, I know this is not a problem with FreeRADIUS, however, there are several people on this list who run FreeRADIUS with Active Directory as a back end and I need their advice on this. I've run into the dreaded "No logon servers (0xc000005e)" error with NTLM. In the past I've found that the computer password for the server expired on AD and that it was either fixed by rejoining, or by tweaking the password's expiry. Do any AD folk on the list know what we can do to get this stable and that this does not occur again? session log in SQL

Now its time to configure to log into SQL :) Until now we uses cisco wireless controller and only allow two connection for all users. I wanted to implement Simultaneous-user based in student and staff. and want to use sql for it. My users are authenticate against AD (samb +ntml_auth). So here is what I did : 1. Created database radius. 2. Populated admin.sql into the mysql 3. Populated schema.sql into the radius database 4. Enabled sql.conf in /etc/raddb/radius.conf 5. Disabled radutmp and enabled sql in accounting section in /etc/raddb/site-enabled/default 6. So, added DEFAULT Simultaneous-Use := 2 in /etc/raddb/users file for testing 7. restarted radius - try logging few users But I do not see any tables in radius database been updated. I just wanted to use session for the simultaneous user for restrict user. if this works then I can write regex to query LDAP if x is staff or student. Point me if i am doing wrong or some docs where I can see more reading reading reading. K

Hi Jasvinder, iPhone configurator has been indeed deprecated some while ago. It sort half worked in iOS 7, and it finally stopped being useful in iOS 8. At the moment, only XCode is useful for that. Apple configurator is used in a corporate setting, however last time I checked, it was only supported in a handful of countries, and not here in Portugal. Someone more used to it can comment. As for the profiles, we are generating them with cat.eduroam.org, because we are a university. However you also have available the service for free at https://802.1x-config.org for a corporate setting. Nevertheless, the profiles are essentially text files. So after generating the first, you can keep it. I also believe you can download client certificates never tried it. You just have to be aware that to download profiles or certificates you have to use the native Safari and not other browser. I also wrote a tutorial to the Portuguese federation on implementing FR 2+EAP-TTLS+AD, that I will have to update to FR 3 and make a little more presentable to distribute it widely. Alternative to ClientLogin for Google Apps authentication?

Hi, My organization has a FreeRADIUS server set up to authenticate wifi users with their Google Apps email address and generated app password. It accepts them over EAP in plain text and then runs them against the ClientLogin API in a perl script. Google has deprecated ClientLogin and is cutting it off in April this year. I have consulted with a couple cloud radius providers and they say they can keep this system working as it currently does - users create a Google app password, sign into the WiFi network with it, and they get on the network. This is ideal since we can just direct our existing server's IP to the cloud provider, and our hundreds of clients keep working without a single change. Is there any way FreeRADIUS can authenticate against Google with an app password, without ClientLogin being around anymore? I looked into OAuth2 but it looks like that will require all existing clients to manually sign in again and change details, since it'll require interaction to create the first refresh token. A horrifying other option is to start caching user's passwords on the radius server as they are successfully authenticated, so that we have their working config stored, then when Google cuts off the API we authenticate users against a local database of those stored passwords, manually adding/disabling new/old ones for any user changes. Ugly, insecure, and broken. Any advice? Thanks, Dan
