Hello,
I´m trying to migrate an old installation of freeradius to a more recent
system.
Old version is 2.0.2
Target system is running CentOS 7 and the packaged version of freeradius,
which is 3.0.4
The setup on the old server is using the passwd-module and unlang to bind
the username (which comes from a certificate) to a mac-address and checks
the validity of the username.
MAC-address is added to request.
/etc/raddb/mods-enabled/passwd:
passwd maclist {
filename = /etc/raddb/maclist
format = "*User-Name:~mac-add"
}
/etc/raddb/sites-enabled/default:
...
authorize {
...
maclist
if (notfound) {
reject
}
if ( mac-add !~ /%{Calling-Station-ID}/i) {
reject
}
...
/etc/raddb/dictionary:
ATTRIBUTE mac-add 3005 string
On access-request I´ll get the following error, and the check is not
working:
(1) [maclist] = ok
(1) if (notfound)
(1) if (notfound) -> FALSE
(1) if ( mac-add !~ /%{Calling-Station-ID}/i)
(1) EXPAND %{Calling-Station-ID}
(1) --> 00236c94ed49
(1) ERROR: Failed retrieving values required to evaluate condition
What am I doing wrong?
Full debug and connection log below.
Thank you very much.

Can anyone recommend where to get hold of a freeradius.spec file to
build 3.0.12 RPMs in the same way as RHEL do (only much newer!)?
For 3.0.11, I used the source & spec package at:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=298
Thanks

Hi,
I have some problems setting up eduroam. I am in charge of CS department
inside my university.
I have credential both in CS department and at the university level.
I can use my CS credential to authenticate to eduroam, whether I am in
my CS department network or anywhere else in the university network (and
in the world according to some roaming users).
I can use my university credentials to authenticate to eduroam when I am
on the university network, but it does not work when I am in CS
department network. I don't know if it is working anywhere else in the
world.
CS department network and university network are not connected,
futhermore they both refer to the national eduroam gateway for
authentication (for historical reason, there is no hierarchy).
How can I check why I cannot authenticate? It could be 2 reasons:
- I do not proxy properly to the national eduroam gateway
- my university side of eduroam is not receiving/answering to the
authenication requests coming from upper level.
I have no credential outside of my CS department and university that I
can use for testing.
Best regards,
Olivier

Hi ,
Just wanted to check if their are any ways of logging the final reply
sent to NAS. By this I mean this bit from radiusd -X
(10) Sent Access-Accept Id 10 from 172.21.8.201:1812 to

In this its sending back an Aruba VSA.
I can get all of the above by doing %{reply:[*]} but it doesnt log the
actual VSA in it. Just checking if there is an easy way of doing. I
need both the name of the attribute and the actual attribute value
returned like its showing up on this debug.
Many Thanks
Arnab

Hello FreeRADIUS List,
Thank you for taking the time to help me troubleshoot an issue: the
radiusd service on a server with two network interfaces is not
receiving RADIUS requests from network.
When requests are made locally using radtest and eapol_test (with the
EAP-MSCHAPv2 file,) the service responds just fine. I've done both
packet-capture on the local router and a tcp dump showing packets
arriving on the server. My guess is that the service isn't listening
to the correct interface, but it is configured to listen to all
interfaces (from what I can tell).
Environment:
* radiusd: FreeRADIUS Version 3.0.4, for host x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu

>How do I complete the jump to EAP-TLS? Any guides online?
You need to create a Certificate request file (CSR) to a public Certificate Authority e.g. GlobalSign, Comodo, GoDaddy, etc, , this will also create your Private key file. You can use Open SSL to generate the CSR and private key.
Once you have submitted your request file, the CA will proviate you will a certificate and a copy of their root certificates to go with it. Then you can place your certificate files on your radius server in your freeradius/certs folder. I prefer to have the private, public and root files concatenated together e.g. myeapcertificate.pem.
Then update your eap.conf file and point the private_key_file entry and certificate_file entry to the same concatenated file.

Hi All,
This is probably a rather easy one and I am certainly overlooking
something simple somewhere.
I trying to write out if the request was accepted or rejected using RLM
perl into a json file. I am able to get everything under the sun for
the request apart from this simple thing.
Looking at how this is done in the sql module it appears its just a
simple expansion of %{reply:Packet-Type}, but cant find a way to do the
same in RLM perl.
Thanks in advance.
Many Thanks
Arnab

The Class attributed is missing in some accounting packets sent from the same NAS.

I have been experimenting with the Class attribute to obtain the user's
true identity in order to do accounting and I realised that accounting
packets arriving from some users do not have this attribute.
User DIALLO is one:

Option to respond with a different pool in Freeradius DHCP based on interface
by Nataniel Klug 07 Feb '17

07 Feb '17
Hello,
I am running a Freeradius DHCP and I want to use the same Freeradius server
to serve different pools on different interfaces but I am not seeing a way
to make that happen. I was thinking on use the update-control but I was not
able to find a way to make it.
Scenario is like this:
eth1 - 10.192.0.0/10 (pool name "dhcp_ftth") - working just fine
eth2 - 10.10.0.024 (pool name "management")
Both pools are in a MySQL database. Any ideas on how to make it?
Bellow I am posting the result of the "radiusd -Xx" for a request I
received:

Hello:
I'm new to Freeradius and to Linux (Ubuntu Server 16.04) as well. I've got
my first server up and running Freeradius v3 and can successfully authorize
users on my network with a username and password. Works great and was easy
to do. My AXis ipCCTV cameras require EAP-TLS and this is where I'm
stuck.
My clients require a CA Certificate, a Client cert and private key, an EAP
identity and Private key password for the EAP identity. I'm not exactly
sure where all this comes from.
I can't get "make" or "make client" to do anything other than give me a "No
targets specified and no makefile found" error.
How do I complete the jump to EAP-TLS? Any guides online?
Thanks,
Joe
