Hi! I would like a help if possible, please.
I have a NAS Mikrotik configured with IPv6 only.
All packets arriving for FreeRadius have only the NAS-IPv6-Address attribute. NAS-IP-Address attribute is not sent by Mikrotik in this scenario.
I am able to authenticate clients successfully, as well as using the radclient command to disconnect. I'm using MySQL database and changed the query to store the NAS-IPv6-Address attribute in the nasipaddress field of the radacct table.
The problem is with checkrad: when I need to check for simultaneous connections I get the following error:

The IP address that is in the nasipaddress field is 2804:444:1:1::2 and not 255.255.255.255.
Looking for the error message I found the session.c file in the Freeradius project on Github (https://github.com/redBorder/freeradius/blob/master/src/main/session.c) It seemed to me that checkrad is always waiting for IPv4. In any case I could be wrong because I don't know the C language.
My checkrad script isn't even called.
Below is the Access-Request package and the freeradius -X command output.
Would anyone know how to get around this problem? Check simultaneous users using MySQL and IPv6 as NAS IP address?

Hi everyone
On our site the freeradius was compiled with -g flag (and no
optimization) for debugging reasons.
Should this be avoided for productive use? And should be used some
optimization level (-O) instead?

I'm using Freeradius to authenticate a bunch of network devices whom all are expected to have a long-term, more or less permanent connection to my network. Any disconnect from the net is considered a deviation from normal operation.
Currently I've been using radwho to list status for my devices. Unfortunately radwho only seem to format the date with weekday and hh:mm timestamp.
Is there any way I could get a more exact date from radwho or is there other mechanisms I could use to get info on all "live" sessions?

My SSL certificate is expiring and I need to install a replacement, but
everytime I just try radiusconfig -installcerts the debug log shows it's

Hello,
Our FreeRadius to Active Directory authentication is no longer working. It was working up until about a month ago, we upgraded the domain controller from 2008r2 to 2012r2. After that we started having issues when people connecting to the VPN would get “Access denied – wrong user name or password”. Even though the server never appeared to lose domain connection, adding the FreeRadius server back to the domain with “net join” would band aid it for a week and then the same error message would come up. However that band aid hasstopped working.
The only thing that’s changed is the domain controller so I’m not sure if it needs to be tweaked, but I wanted to ask in here if anyone’s had the same issue dealing with Windows server 2012R2/FreeRadius AD authentication and had to tweak anything on FreeRadius and/or the Windows server?
I have researched the issue and have not found any information at this point that has resolved the issue.
This is the error message in the /var/log/freeradius/radius.log file:

It's possible to bypass much of the security of Eduroam simply by playing games with DNS.
Note that FreeRADIUS is not vulnerable to these issues. Even though 3.0.23 supports dynamic home servers, it doesn't rely on parsing DNS records to create those definitions.
But if we do add that support in the future (RADIUS dynamic discovery over DNS), then we will pay very close attention to these issues.

E.g.
User1 on NAS1 has the username "user45"
User2 on NAS2 has the same username "user45"
We're using Yubikeys and SQL for 2FA/MFA, and I've got the Yubikey
mappings sorted based in the clients.conf for each NAS
For SQL I can see multiple ways of doing this.
Add something (e.g NAS shortname) to the supplied username to match
unique usernames in SQL
Use different SQL dbs for each NAS or Virtual Server (not a fan of this
but it is an option)
Write some custom SQL queries and tables so that usernames are linked to
groups via an index instead of usernames, this wouldn't be hard but not
don't know if different SQL servers can use different SQL queries (Is it
as simple as changing which query.conf to import?).
Being new, I don't know which option will lead us into FreeRadius hell,
or if it doesn't really matter.
