while trying for radsec I see freeradius throwing below error on TLS handshake:

I see the key usage and Extended usage look good; still unable to find
whats reason for freeradius rejecting the client certificate
client openssl ; 1.0.2
freeradius: 3.0.16 and i see this has openssl 1.1.0
any help please ?

Hello,
I am using freeradius 3.0.20 on ubuntu 20.04 with backend mssql.
I have problem with the uniqueness of AcctUniqueId ( Acct-Unique-Session-Id ), but they are not unique across radacct table.
Because there may be multiple records with the same AcctUniqueId value an interim update updates all records with the same AcctUniqueId value even for different users, which is a problem for usage calculation, and for some other custom calculations,
I want to create AcctUniqueId in database as a "uniqueidentifier" so it is unique in database which can be retrieved as a string to be used as "Acct-Unique-Session-Id" in radius when inserting a new record. If it is possible to generate a guid by unlang and use it then it would be better.
I think raddb/policy.d/accounting file is where this value is created,
Any suggestion about making Acct-Unique-Session-Id as unique in radacct table will be greatly appreciated.

Hi *,
I try to do an 802.1x authentication of Cisco access points on Aruba
switches against Freeradius 3.0.21-1 under Debian 10.6.
The APs prefer to do EAP-FAST so I enabled the relevant parts in
modules-enabled/eap but whenever a EAP-FAST request arrives now, it
throws this:

Hi,
I have a question about logrotation and how FreeRADIUS handle the
situation when the log file renamed or removed.
I need to rotate a log file from `detail` module. I did the couple
tests - just tried to remove or rename `auth-detail.log` file and it
seems that FreeRADIUS just create a log file if there is no file.
However, there are old replies in mail list that saying I should use
`radmin -e "hup detail"` to recreate `auth-detail.log` file after

So my question is do I still need to send HUP signal to detail module
or the changes in FreeRADIUS code were made so it not necessary

Hi,
my freeradius is working with account name that does not have "@" part.
However, it is not working (MSCHAP2 is failing) with account with "@", such as, say myaccount(a)EXAMPLE.COM.
I don't know what extra configuration is needed to make accounts with "@" working.

Hello everybody
I am currently trying to get the FreeRadius to send accounting messages (accounting request) but not expecting a response (accounting response). My previous attempts to adjust the policy accordingly have unfortunately failed. Currently I have adjusted the config so that the accounting message is written locally in a log and replied to a second accounting server in parallel via the detail reader. Since there is no Radius service running there, there will be no response. Unfortunately, FreeRadius then first declares this server as a zombie and then as dead.
I would appreciate your feedback or help in this regard.

I'm running a freeradius to authorize user access on wifi network(EAP).
everything works well, I input my username and password I can then login
via 802.1x then surf.
However if I change the username/password in mods-config/files/authorize,
then restart radiusd, I can still surf the internet using the old
username/password, no relogin required, until I logoff the wifi network,
and relogin again, now I need supply the new username/password.
How to force a re-login(via 802.1x) whenever I change username/password in
freeradius? Is there a way to do it on freeradius side, or I just restart
wifi network whenever I restart radiusd?

Hi all,
I did some searching but could not find an answer.
in short, we have some users that are getting idle-timeout after under 1
min, but mostly between 20min-5 hours.
I have tried moving our idle-timeout from 1500min to 15000min, and also
tried 0
Still getting idle-timeouts
Is 15000 possibly too long and not recognized by freeradius? does 0 really
mean unlimited?
My goal is to have no idle timeout or session timeout, or understand how to
set these variables to simulate a best practice for no timeouts / monthly
timeouts.
The device is a windows computer, so it is likely generating a good amount
of background traffic via dhcp, netbios, etc (is there maybe a minimal
bytle quota that defines idle? or is idle really 0 bytes?)
My apologies for not including any logs in this post. I would like to
understand the limits of this field, and then gather logs.

All access points are wired connected to a managed switch (IP: 10.0.1.2)
This switch is connected through a fiber channel to another switch
(10.0.1.1) that is wired connected to all LTE/4g routers/gateways.
Raspberry pi (IP 10.0.1.4) is wired connect to the managed switch.
Until now every house has its own unique ssid (wpa2 personal) and devices
from one house cant access APs from other houses.
I'm wondering if it is possible to change all APs to use wpa2 enterprise in
a way that freeradius (based on the username -not the mac address ) set IP
range and gateway that user belong.
For example, if I belong to house1 (using gateway 10.0.0.2) when I go to
visit house2 the House2AP should recognize me as house1 and send me the same
gateway as house1.

Hi,
When I try to enable tls in the sites-enabled, see below error on
'radiusd debug -X'
Failed creating SSL context: error:140A90A1:lib(20):func(169):reason(161)
[root@server raddb]# openssl errstr 0x140A90A1
error:140A90A1:SSL routines:SSL_CTX_new:library has no ciphers
[root@server raddb]#
