Important question about module instantiation

Hello, In sqlippool.conf I've instantiated: sqlippool DYNAMIC{ ... allocate-find = "SELECT framedipaddress FROM ${ippool_table} \ WHERE pool_name = '%{check:Pool-Name}' AND expiry_time < 'now'::timestamp(0) \ ORDER BY RANDOM() \ LIMIT 1 \ FOR UPDATE" ... } sqlippool STATIC{ ... allocate-find = "SELECT framedipaddress FROM ${ippool_table} \ WHERE pool_name = '%{check:Pool-Name}' AND expiry_time < 'now'::timestamp(0) \ ORDER BY (username <> '%{SQL-User-Name}'), (callingstationid <> '%{Calling-Station-Id}'), expiry_time \ LIMIT 1 \ FOR UPDATE" ... } So, the first one allocates dynamic IP addresses to the user and the second assigns static ones. Then in radiusd.conf: post-auth { DYNAMIC STATIC ... } The problem is: when someone who have Pool-Name := STATIC in radcheck logs in, the sqlippool module used for assigning IP to that user is DYNAMIC because it was called first than STATIC in radiusd.conf. As a result the user get a dynamic IP. That's a problem. What can I do to solve this, please? Thank you.

Hello, Whenever I run "radiusd" alone, without the "-X" this error occurs in the first authentication request: Error: Assertion failed in listen.c, line 620 This line indicate the proxy part. Running CVS "radiusd -X" generates no error at all. Any clues? Thanks.

Freeradius and FreeBSD 4.1.1

Hi, I have just installed Freeradius onto a dedicated hosted server I have recently started to use. The hosting company have FreeBSD 4.1.1 installed and as such, things are a little tricky to get running out of the box! I have had to add an include to sys/types.h into src/modules/rlm_attr_rewrite/rlm_attr_rewrite.c, and also choose to build it without thread support.... ./configure --with-threads=no All seems to have gone in OK, and its happily communicating with my SQL database, and my NAS's.... Now, my question is in regard to what impact my "tweaks" will have.... Should I expect a dramatic performance loss due to the exclusion of threading??? Also, have I missed anything that might come back and bite me in the proverbial??? Many thanks in advance, Paul.

mysql 4.1 - dialup_admin - badusers.sql and usersinfo.sql

Hi all, found that badusers.sql and usersinfo.sql wont work "as-is" with mysql => 4.1 because it did not support "DEFAULT" statements on auto_increment fields; verified that without DEFAULT the scripts runs ok. I am new on the list, found on the archives that it was reported before, but would like to know if it was reported to the authors to fix it. Thanks and hope it helps ! Hernan Antolini

Version Question

I'm still struggling with my server throwing Error: TLS Alert write:fatal:bad record mac Error: TLS_accept:error in SSLv3 read certificate verify A Error: rlm_eap: SSL error error:1408F455:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:decryption failed or bad record mac Error: rlm_eap_tls: SSL_read failed in a system call (-1), TLS session fails. errors. So I've downgraded to 1.0.4, since that is the latest version that we have in production right now. This box had 1.1.3 installed (as a redhat package) I removed that, and and compiled 1.0.4 from source and installed it. (since I couldn't get 1.0.4 to build as a package) Two things I've noticed.. 1. The server died with the "bad record mac" error, which has only happened to me in the 1.1.3 and the 1.1.2 versions. I've done a search, and the only binary I have on my machine states that it is version 1.0.4 So my question is: did the increased SSL logging come from FreeRADIUS, or from somewhere else, and could it be related to the "bad record mac"?

Problems with freeradius set up

I'm new to the list and I'm having problems getting freeradius to authenticate users. I migrated from an old server running gnu-radius to a new server running freeradius both servers are using mysql. I made sure the tables in mysql match what freeradius required, I also made sure that the database user for freeradius had the same permissions as gnu-radius. My problems is I can't get the users to authenticate, I pasted the output from radtest and radiusd -X. I can provide any more information that my be needed. Well, as you might expect, that depends upon what data store you plan to go against (unix passwd file, freeradius users file, LDAP, etc.) You mentioned LDAP last time so I'll give you some pointers on that. We use LDAP for authorization and ntlm_auth via PEAP/MS-CHAP-V2 for authentication of 802.11 users. We require authentication via the AP to associate as opposed to using "open" on the AP with a Web-based portal. To configure LDAP authorization, look in ldap.attrmap. Within this file, you'll see checkItem entries within. These entries define what LDAP attribute to look for and the radius attribute to which it should be mapped. In our case, we check for membership in a specific AD group, based upon the SSID to which they are connecting. So, I have a checkItem for the "memberOf" LDAP attribute and I map it to Ldap-Group. The LDAP module will create a Ldap-Group check attribute for each AD group to which the user is a member (other than their primary group). Then, I have a perl script that determines the required group and checks for membership (by looking in the %RAD_CHECK{'Ldap-group'} variable - it will be an array if the user is a member of more than 1 group). It then returns RLM_REJECT if they aren't a member of a required group. You could also use attr_rewrite, probably with a regular expression, to create a custom Group-Requirement attribute based upon the SSID/VLAN information in the request. Then, you could use the checkval module to do the testing. We currently do this by having our APs pass the SSID to which the user is connecting. It sounds like you aren't authenticating from the AP though, so you would need to do it differently. If you are authenticating from the portal and you have control over what it passes, then you can pass an attribute with the SSID or VLAN info. and then validate it during the authorize stage of freeradius processing.
