Freeradius - EAP-TLS cert issue?

Hello all, I am a new user of Freeradius and am trying to get it up and running using EAP-TLS. I have the below error when I attempt to run. Is this a cert issue or a config issue with Freeradius? dynamically defining name of radacct and radpostauth table names

Hi, For quite some time now i've been using the sql_log module to write SQL statements into a file on each of my RADIUS servers which are processed by rad-sqlrelay. It works well but due to the number of records produced I do need to do some form of mysql table management. Rather than have 2 huge tables (radacct and radpostauth) I'd like to start using monthly tables. Would it be possible to dynamically generate a table name of the form radacct + "_" + "mth" + "yr" e.g. radacct_sep14 or radacct_1014 from within the sql_logs so that when I generate my sql statements they'll be inserted into the appropriate "month" table? More sanity checks when the server starts

I've pushed some more code which sanity checks the dynamically expanded configuration items. e.g. for the "detail" module, you can do: filename = ${radacctdir}/%{%{Packet-Src-IP-Address}:- ... In v3.0.4 and earlier, typos in the "filename" would result in run-time errors. Which are hard to debug. :( For future versions, these typos are caught when the server loads: ./raddb/mods-enabled/detail[34]: Failed parsing expanded string: ./raddb/mods-enabled/detail[34]: /usr/local/var/log/radius/radacct/%{%{Picker-Src-IP-Address}:-%{Packet-Src-IPv6-Address}}/detai... ./raddb/mods-enabled/detail[34]: ^ Unknown attribute This is much friendlier to administrators. It doesn't cause any issues, and it means that typos are caught quickly. As a result of this change, I've fixed a few typos in the SQL queries. Alan DeKok.

LDAP performance checker

Frustrated by the lack of any LDAP performance checker that was simple to configure, easy to build, and actually worked, I wrote this: https://github.com/arr2036/ldapperf https://github.com/arr2036/ldapperf/archive/v0.1.tar.gz Maybe someone else will find it useful. With a set of 10,000 objects, with random object retrieval (using full DN and base scope) with OpenLDAP 2.4.39 + LMDB on a 12 core E5-2697 v2 @ 2.7Ghz with Ubuntu 14.04, 24 threads on the server, 50 threads on ldapperf i get around 45,000 TPS. Retrieving the same object multiple times (possibly taking advantage of some sort of query cache) I get between 60,000-66,000 TPS. Does freeradius support considering a session as ended if enough accounting packets are missed?

I'm running FreeRADIUS Version 2.1.12. I've searched online, and haven't found anything on the subject that definitively says. Does freeradius support marking a session as ended/stopped if enough accounting packets are missed? One thing I did consider is that if not, I could try building a script that runs frequently, looking for sessions that have no accounting in the last X minutes, and changes the session to being ended (I think radzap is the tool for this, but I could be wrong). Of course, the less weird scripts I make (and have to come back and figure out what "clever" thing I did in 3 years), the better. -- Erik Andersen Eastern Oregon Net, Inc

Recent minor changes

Version 3 had *most* configuration things pre-compiled. e.g. "%{sql: SELECT .. %{User-Name} ...}" would check that the "sql" module existed, and the User-Name attribute existed. This worked for everything except regular expressions. I've just pushed a minor change which fixes that: if (User-Name =~ /%{Blah-Blah}/) { ... is now an error. The server will refuse to start, and will print out a descriptive error message. Alan DeKok.

All I know is you didn't install it from a package, and you didn't do the standard: $ ./configure $ make $ make install Since you're not installing it from a package, why are you using version 2.2.0? Why not use 2.2.5? And if you are installing it from a package, how did you make it NOT install the dictionaries? You worked VERY HARD to destroy the standard installation. Why? Follow the standard way to build and install the server. It isn't hard. By doing your own thing, you've wasted your time, and ours. Delete EVERYTHING you've done related to FreeRADIUS.
