Hello,
In my version 2 config I had a users file that was working fine.
In my version 3 config I have moved the content of this file to
mods-config/files/authorize
My huntsgroup file is working, or at least I see Huntgroup-Name
attribute in my Auth-Detail logging.
there are a few things I don't see at the moment and they are all
related to my users /authorize file:
- User to group mappings.
- Aruba attributes are not added to an authenticated user
- Users in my users file (phones etc) are not able to authenticate.
In version 2 I had use_tunneled_reply = yes in my config.
In version 3 this is depricated and now I have to do something with
update outer.session-state in my inner-tunnel config.
In version 2 I had to add some information regarding groups to the
/etc/raddb/dictionary file. This file is in my config tree, but I have
the idea that it is not being accessed.
What could I be missing?
Attached is my radiusd -X output file.

Hi all,
First, a bit of background:
I've had this freeradius server working well for months. I built it, with
Google Authenticator for two-factor authentication. I integrated it with
my Dell Sonicwall to implement SSLVPN with two-factor authentication.
All that was working fine. Yesterday, I needed to rebuild my AWS VPC
(Virtual PRovate Cloud) so we could add a VPN tunnel from another office,
which had conflicting IP address ranges, so, I built a new VPC and
re-launched my freeradius servers into the new VPC, and stuff stopped
working.
I'm not sure what's going on here, but even a simple radtest fails.
This is:
[ec2-user@tfa-primary ~]$ /usr/sbin/radiusd -v
radiusd: FreeRADIUS Version 3.0.13, for host x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu, built
on Jul 17 2017 at 06:58:38
FreeRADIUS Version 3.0.13
When I run radtest, I get:

Which doesn't seem to really indicate anything specific, that I can see.
When I run radiusd with '-X' option and execute 'radtest', I get:

I am in process of migrating free radius 2.1 to free radius 3.x.
In Free radius 2.1 all configuration is located in freeradius.conf file.
In Freeradius 3.X , the configurations are divided into various configuration files
Some in ldap modules & some sites-enabled/default.
Modified files accordingly.
I have custom configuration for authenticating to Unix Server by Radius Server.
Failed to find "level1_and_duopush" in the "modules" section.
What I am supposed to do in modules section for "level1_and_duopush"

Hi all,
I just set up a Freeradius server (3.0 on Ubuntu 16.04). I want to use an OpenLDAP server (that has a UserPassword field with an NTLM hash and a prefix that is "{ntlm}", so a password looks like "{NTLM}0CB6948805F797BF2A82807973B89537". Now I would like Freeradius to strip the "{NTLM}" part, and then authenticate using that hash. Amongst server connection settings, I also added this to the ldap module configuration:
password_header = "{ntlm}"
#control:Password-With-Header += 'userPassword'
control:NT-Password := 'UserPassword'
I still get this when testing with an android device:
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : WARNING: (7) mschap: NT-Password found but incorrect length, expected 16 bytes got 38 bytes. Authentication may fail
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : WARNING: (7) mschap: No Cleartext-Password configured. Cannot create NT-Password
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : WARNING: (7) mschap: No Cleartext-Password configured. Cannot create LM-Password
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : Debug: (7) mschap: Creating challenge hash with username: MyUserName
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : Debug: (7) mschap: Client is using MS-CHAPv2
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : ERROR: (7) mschap: FAILED: No NT/LM-Password. Cannot perform authentication
Thu Sep 21 08:59:02 2017 : ERROR: (7) mschap: MS-CHAP2-Response is incorrect
Do you guys have any tips for me on how to resolve this? Sorry if I left out any valuable info.
Thanks,
Maarten

Hello,
I need to migrate my configuration from FreeRadius 2 to FreeRadius 3 and
I would like some quick pointers.
In my version 2 cauthorize {
onfig I have the following construct:
authorize {
.
.
.
.
if ( Realm == "aaa.com" ) {
ldap_aaa
}
if ( Realm == "bbb.com" ) {
ldap_bbb
}
.
.
.
}
In modules/ldap
ldap ldap_aaa {
server = "ldap.domain.local"
basedn = "ou=aaa,dc=bedrijf,dc=com"
filter = "(mailLocalAddress=%{User-Name})"
groupname_attribute = cn
groupmembership_filter =
"(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{Stripped-User-Name}))"
ldap_connections_number = 5
timeout = 4
timelimit = 3
net_timeout = 1
tls {
start_tls = no
}
dictionary_mapping = ${confdir}/ldap.attrmap
edir_account_policy_check = no
}
ldap ldap_bbb {
server = "ldap.domain.local"
basedn = "ou=bbb,dc=bedrijf,dc=com"
filter = "(mailLocalAddress=%{User-Name})"
groupname_attribute = cn
groupmembership_filter =
"(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{Stripped-User-Name}))"
ldap_connections_number = 5
timeout = 4
timelimit = 3
net_timeout = 1
tls {
start_tls = no
}
dictionary_mapping = ${confdir}/ldap.attrmap
edir_account_policy_check = no
}
This works fine in FreeRadius 2, but in FreeRadius 3 I get an error on
the if construct in the authorize section.
The only difference between the 2 ldap parts is the basedn. How can I
make this construct work in FreeRadius 3?
Can I do something like this?
ldap {
server = "ldap.domain.local"
if ( Realm == "aaa.com" ) {
basedn = "ou=aaa,dc=bedrijf,dc=com"
}
if ( Realm == "bbb.com" ) {
basedn = "ou=bbb,dc=bedrijf,dc=com"
}
filter = "(mailLocalAddress=%{User-Name})"
groupname_attribute = cn
groupmembership_filter =
"(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{Stripped-User-Name}))"
ldap_connections_number = 5
timeout = 4
timelimit = 3
net_timeout = 1
tls {
start_tls = no
}
dictionary_mapping = ${confdir}/ldap.attrmap
edir_account_policy_check = no
}

Dictionaries in /usr/share/freeradius are root/root but I am not sure if
these are actually used.
When starting radiusd, I am not able to confirm dictionary.brocade is
loaded, and my clients are not receiving their attributes.

I attempted to start radiusd with -Xx in case that is helpful, but I still
am not sure if this is reading the dictionary.
My users contains:
swadmin Cleartext-Password := "supersecret"
Brocade-Auth-Role = "admin",
Brocade-AVPairs1 = "HomeLF=128",
Brocade-AVPairs2 = "LFRoleList=admin:1-128",
Brocade-AVPairs3 = "ChassisRole=admin"
swuser Cleartext-Password := "supersecret"
Brocade-Auth-Role = "user",
Brocade-AVPairs1 = "HomeLF=128",
Brocade-AVPairs2 = "LFRoleList=user:1-128",
Brocade-AVPairs3 = "ChassisRole=user",
Brocade-Passwd-ExpiryDate = "10/01/2017",
Brocade-Passwd-WarnPeriod = "31"
Thanks for any assistance,
Chris

Hi,
I'm seeing quite a few

messages on my ORPS servers and I'm trying to find out where they come
from.
In normal log file they appear as shown.

However, when I try running FR in degug mode I never see the above errors.
Have also tried running raddebug to dump output into another file ... and
the normal file still has the aforementioned Warnings but the raddebug
doesn't
How am I supposed to get more info about the what the message relates to?
BTW running 3.0.15

Hi friends!!
In the company where I work, we have a wireless controller which is
authenitcating with a LDAP server using this configuration:
IP address: 192.168.0.10
LDAP Base DN = "plataform.example.com.co"
Admin DN= "cn=roam,dc=example,dc=com,dc=co"
Admin password = 12345
Key attribute = uid
SearchFilter= "userType=managment"
With that configuration the people from managment department can login in
the wireless network.
I can change to SearchFilter= "userType=guest", so the people from
managment department can not login, but guest people can do it.
No we need to use a FreeRadius server to set a new wireless controller that
can't use LDAP authentication. So, I installed freeradius-ldap package, and
I enabled the module. This is my ldap file:
ldap {
server = "plataform.example.com.co"
identity = "cn=roam,dc=example,dc=com,dc=co"
password = 12345
basedn = "dc=example,dc=com,dc=co"
ldap_connections_number = 5
...
}
I enabled LDAP module, and reloaded the freeradius configuration and every
works great :D I can autheniticate using freeradius and Ldap server.
But the issue is: with that setting people from managment department and
guest people can logging in the wireless network, both of them. That is a
problem for me, I need to apply the same Filter that the previous wirless
controller had enabled ( Key attribute = uid and SearchFilter=
"userType=managment")
I have tried using these attibutes in ldap config file:
filter = "(uid=%{%{Stripped-User-Name}:-%{User-Name}})"
base_filter = "(objectclass=radiusprofile)"
I have tried many combinations but I cant' do it work.
Can you give me any advice about how can I configure the freeradius-ldap
module in order to do that filter?
Thanks in advance!!!
Andrés!!
