Hello,
I would like to ask how to configure the reply log that way I;m able to apir it with the request.
As there is no username or some knd of session id in the reoply, the default reply_log configuration just logs the reply attributes.
In this scenario I'm not able to pair it with the original request ;(
At this time the logging is just into files.
By default, the Rejected request are not logged, what should be changed to add logging for them?

Hi,
I'd like to thank everyone that contributes to the RADIUS standards and particularly FreeRADIUS developers for their tireless efforts. I realise that the Blast RADIUS protocol vulnerability (CVE-2024-3596) could have been avoided should the standards have adopted recommendations put forward in the past, it must be very frustrating to work on things to have users asking questions more than a year later.
We're diligently upgrading vendor equipment to support message authenticator, where CheckPoint, FortiNet and MikroTik have recently backported support to LTS versions. Whilst security devices (eg firewalls) have unique client definitions to match fixed IPs, we have approximately 1500+ routers that live in non-publicly accessible management subnets, although these are arguably still public as they are reachable from client environments. The main issue with these is that they connect via LTE mobile APNs.
We configured client prefix definitions that cover hundreds of routes (eg 198.19.200.0/23), where we can't simply blindly upgrade these in large batches, requiring client scheduled maintenance windows. Due to how mobile operators assign IPs out of pools for the APNs, it's not possible for us to configure individual client statements.
Any possibility of there being an additional option to augment the auto setting? So that each individual IP in a defined range is flipped to enforcing message-authenticator?
Let me try to explain in way of example, let's say we have a client configured as follows:

We're hoping that other networks would benefit from an option whereby FreeRADIUS would possibly use a bloom filter to mark individual IPs in those subnets to requiring message authenticator should they receive a request which includes the M-A attribute. We would actually prefer FreeRADIUS to additionally flip on enforcement should a request contains the M-A attribute, irrespective of whether or not it's the first packet to arrive after FreeRADIUS was restarted.
This way technicians could schedule and upgrade equipment and thereafter enforce M-A validation without having to reach out to people that have access to restart FreeRADIUS thereafter. It would also inconvenience technicians, forcing them to use special jump hosts that log in using _break glass_ local admin accounts without revealing those credentials in the process (we're hoping that this would motivate technicians to add routers to a _to be upgraded_ list to catch those that fall through cracks).
Any suggestions from anyone that's walked this road before? Have we completely missed the boat or simply unaware of clever ways to handle this scenario?

For FreeRADIUS v4 we have a new method of automatically escaping values used in various DSLs (Domain Specific Languages) like SQL, LDAP and regular expressions.
We'd appreciate it if FreeRADIUS users could look over the policy snippets below and indicate what you expect the SQL statement to be _as executed_ (not the result of evaluating the statement).

Hello,
I did try to check on the internet and also found some threads
regarding similar issues that I've tried to use but have been
unsuccessful in resolving my issues.
I'm setting up a freeradius 3.2.1 on a Debian 12 to bring eduroam
service to a high school which is using an OpenLDAP, no microsoft
infrastructure behind other than final clients with their laptops.
Did try multiple configurations to make it work without success.
OpenLDAP has userPassword encrypted in SSHA1 format, which makes it
difficult to be compatible with all available authentication methods.
I was successful on setting it with EAP-TTLS-GTC and as able to
retrieve userPassword and validate MacOS, iOS and Android devices, but
couldn't validate Windows devices without a 3rd party software that
highschool doesn't want to use. EAP-TTLS-PAP was not allowing iOS
devices to validate as they always tried to use mschapv2 with that
configuration.
So now I've been trying to do bind as user against LDAP using
EAP-TTLS-PAP but can't manage to force (Android, iOS and MacOS)
devices to use this configuration to validate and always try to
default to mschapv2. Windows doesn't even try to bind to LDAP.
I can see on the debug log it uses auth-type = eap and calls submodule
eap_ttls which I guess should be correct, but then I see a EAP NAK
that forces to use eap_mschapv2 even though I think I've commented it
to not be used in the configuration.

Hello.
I've got LDAP users, with Samba passwords(amongst other attributes) as
sambaNTPassword
<http://ldap.telbridge/ldapadmin/cmd.php?cmd=schema&server_id=1&view=attribu…>,
and try to authenticate users (windows10,11) to access LAN through
AccessPoint(192.168.176.5) using those passwords since radius and ldap
do not work good together. According to table, windows default mschap(or
mschapv2) works only with ntlm_auth(obviously i dont want do store
passwords as cleartext in ldap) so im trying to use samba pass as those
are stored as some hashes. I should mention that my config work if
passwords in ldap are cleartext, if any other storage method -
authentication fail. For testing I use snakeoil certs by making them
after installation. Config files are mostly in default. Ldap on remote
host(some centos).
Could anybody check my debug below with any suggestions with fixes?

Hi everyone,
I have a working EAP-TLS setup using FreeRadius version 3.2.7. I'm trying to extend this setup to use OCSP but have not
been successful. My configuration is as follows:

This is a simple setup where the same ca.pem is used to sign both client certificates and OCSP responses. I have tried
different configurations, including enabling/disabling auto_chain, using both ca_file and ca_path, using only ca_file or
only ca_path, and switching cipher_server_preference. However, I have not found a configuration that resolves the
"signer certificate not found" error. I'm out of ideas.

Dear FreeRADIUS Community,
I am writing to seek advice on the best approach to reprocess accounting detail files without affecting the live operation of FreeRADIUS. Currently, I write accounting records into detail files in 15-minute intervals. However, sometimes I occasionally need to reprocess these files at a later time.
Would radrelay be the right tool for this, or is there a better approach? I am considering a solution where I can trigger the reprocessing via a single command or have a listener that can be activated with restarting FreeRADIUS.
I would appreciate any recommendations on the best way to achieve this.
