Hi all,
I'm trying to configure freeradius with mysql authentication. Specifically
I'm trying to use a somehow longer hash. I came upon the thread
http://lists.freeradius.org/pipermail/freeradius-users/2015-January/075505.…
Which explains using update control to query hash and salt from the
database. It goes something like this:
update control {
Tmp-String-0 := "%{sql:SELECT hash FROM <table> WHERE <clause>}"
Tmp-String-1 := "%{sql:SELECT salt FROM <table> WHERE <clause>}"
}
update control {
SSHA2-512-Password := "0x%{control:Tmp-String-0}%{control:Tmp-String-1}"
}
This is probably a beginners question, but I don't know what to put in the
where clause as I don't know which parameters are available at the time of
calling this, ideally the statement will look like this:
Assume table: users(id, username, hash, salt)
update control {
Tmp-String-0 := "%{sql:SELECT hash FROM users WHERE
<USERNAME_CONNECTING = username>}"
Tmp-String-1 := "%{sql:SELECT salt FROM users WHERE
<USERNAME_CONNECTING = username>}"
}
Any idea how to achieve that? Sepcifically how to get the username the
user is currently submitting

Hi,
I'm installing FreeRadius with Postgresql after a couple of years of using
plain text files, all the SQL thing was created but I can't realize where
is the Users table.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Hi
When configuration users file is reloaded by sending SIGHUP *
http://wiki.freeradius.org/guide/FAQ#How-do-I-get-radius-to-pick-up-changes…)
does radius reconnect all database connections which it has established?

Hi
I Use CentOs 6.7 with freeradius 2.2.6 (tested also with 2.2.8 -> same
problem).
The problem is that some Android devices (including the galaxy s5) to the
first access send access-request and accounting-request (all ok), in
subsequent connections instead send only accounting-request.
the clients connect anyway, but bypass the controls on attributes. (I
use Simultaneous-Use := 1 that is in the group "base")
summarize:
+connect android
+disconnect android
+connect pc
+ reconnect android (should check Simultaneous-Use but not work)
This problem occurs only with some client Android. with other devices work
vey well (pc send always access and accouting request).
below the first connection:

Hi folks,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction on this one.. My BB
provider advises me that I am still sending them incorrect information in
the outbound response when I authenticate a user, but are unable (so far) to
tell me what it is thatÂąs incorrect.
This is the info that they have requested I send them as part of the users
response;
Tunnel-Type = L2TP
Tunnel-Medium-Type = IP
Service-Type = Framed-User
Tunnel-Password = XXXXXXX
Tunnel-Server-Endpoint = IP of your LNS
Tunnel-Client-Auth-ID = YYYYYYY
I am getting authentication success on FR but at the client its still
rejected. TIA!
Kind Regards,
Neil

Hi,
I can't find good example for minimal radius proxy setup which looks
like as minimal radiusd.conf from THE FREE RADIUS TECHNICAL GUIDE, so
I tried to create it based on example from this guide:
listen {
type = proxy
ipaddr = 10.0.0.10
port = 1645
}
home_server onyma {
type = auth+acct
ipaddr = 10.0.0.11
secret = MySecret
port = 1812
src_ipaddr = 10.0.0.10
}
client localhost {
ipaddr = 10.0.0.10
secret = MySecret
}
I tried to test it locally with 'radtest user password 10.0.0.10:1645
1 MySecret' but result is:
rad_recv: Access-Request packet from host 10.0.0.10 port 45436,
id=187, length=78
Invalid packet code 1 sent to a proxy port from home server 10.0.0.10
port 45436 - ID 187 : IGNORED
I tried to change type from proxy to auth, but in this case error is:
WARNING: Empty authorize section. Using default return values.
ERROR: No authenticate method (Auth-Type) found for the request:
Rejecting the user
Failed to authenticate the user.
I need to send request to another radius server instead of defining
local authorize section, so I tried to add this lines:
home_server_pool onyma {
type = fail-over
home_server = onyma
}
realm "ONYMA" {
auth_pool = onyma
acct_pool = onyma
}
The result is the same.
So, what is the right way to proxy requests to another radius server?

Hi
Could you please tell me, why my RADIUS server doesnt find reply
(status-check via using "request" ) from 3rd party RADIUS server ? The
PCAP file (contains correct response for Accounting Requests from 3rd party
RADIUS server) is in the attachment.
Thank you very much.

greetings,
FR 3.0.x git 180e0b27022237a5f75c3c25d7eb1dbded634bad
am I correct to expect User-Profile assigned if user belongs to Ldap-Group?
here is how I supposed to get it working:
---[ file `users' quotation start ]-------------------------------------------
...
DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "wifi-ABC", Called-Station-SSID == "ABC", Login-Time := 'Al0700-2200', User-Profile := "cn=wifi-ABC,ou=profiles,ou=RADIUS,dc=xyz"
Reply-Message := "User-Profile is %{control:User-Profile}",
Fall-Through = no
...
---[ file `users' quotation end ]-------------------------------------------
here is what I have in debug:
---[ debug quotation start ]-------------------------------------------
...
(6) files: Searching for user in group "wifi-ABC"
...
(6) files: User found in group object "ou=groups,ou=RADIUS,dc=xyz"
rlm_ldap (ldap): Released connection (9)
(6) files: users: Matched entry DEFAULT at line 95
(6) files: EXPAND User-Profile is %{control:User-Profile}
(6) files: --> User-Profile is
(6) [files] = ok
rlm_ldap (ldap): Reserved connection (10)
...
(6) ldap: User object found at DN "uid=rad-jdoe,authorizedService=802.1x-eap-tls@xyz,uid=jdoe,ou=People,dc=xyz"
(6) ldap: Waiting for search result...
(6) ldap: Processing user attributes
(6) ldap: control:Cleartext-Password := '********'
(6) ldap: control:Password-With-Header += '********'
r_ldap (ldap): Released connection (326)
(6) [ldap] = updated
...
---[ debug quotation end ]-------------------------------------------
no evidence, profile attributes were searched/processed ...
my user is found to be a part of Ldap-Group, how to know why
User-Profile is not assigned?
in documentation it is written: if user is a part of Ldap-Group, the
User-Profile will be assigned to the user.
the only way, I found, to get User-Profile assigned to user is to set
attribute radiusProfileDn value in user object directly ... but this
causes one-user-one-profile result, what is not the resul I hoped for
where are am I mistaking?

EAP-TTLS Certificates expired only when selecting different timezone than GMT Western Zone

Hi, I have a problem using certificates when for example a device has set
the timezone to GMT+1. So if the user has the timezone different than GMT
Western Zone does not connect and it launchs a message saying the
certificate has expired.
Is there a way to allow devices trying to connect with a different timezone
to be able to connect and accept the certicate?
Regards.

Dear All Freeradius Developers and Users,
My servers are running Freeradius v2.2.7 and 2.2.8.
Is there any existing attribute related to virtual_server?
1. If yes, to which dictionary does it belong?
2. If no, how do I define it?
I think I am in need of it. I want to bind each subscriber login ID to
his virtual server, so that if he logs in from other servers to which he
has not subscribed, he will be kicked.
Thanks for your precious opinion in advance.
Yours Faithfully,
Timmy
